💚🖤Why is it called REBORN? 💚🖤
Following our huge announcement about the application for a Community 3G, the most common question we’ve been asked is:
“Why is the project called REBORN?”
Because that’s exactly what we want this to be – a new beginning.
For too long, there’s been negativity around the town. Decline. Frustration. Hopelessness.
REBORN is about flipping that mindset. It’s about reviving pride, rebuilding community spirit, and reimagining what’s possible. This is more than a pitch – it’s the first step to help bring our town back to life.
Here’s what REBORN stands for:

R – Rehabilitate
In response to challenges like high crime and drug use, we’ll work with the Police, Prisons, Probation Services, Mental Health charities like In Sam’s Name, and Framework Housing. Together, we’ll use sport to support rehabilitation and recovery.
E – Educate
The new seminar room will host a post-16 football academy, work experience programmes, and community-led learning initiatives that connect sport to real opportunities for growth.
B – Benefit the Community
This isn’t just for football. It’s for toddlers to the elderly – offering something for every age and ability. Physical and mental health, connection, activity – all under one roof, open to everyone.
O – Old Generation
Dedicated sessions for older adults to stay active, socialise, and share their life experiences with the younger generation. Creating stronger intergenerational bonds and reducing loneliness.
R – Revive
After decades of decline, this project will inject life back into the area. With increased footfall, economic uplift, and pride, we’ll help turn the tide for our town and its people.
N – New Generation
Safe, inspiring, and engaging – this facility will give our young people somewhere to belong. A hub where they can stay active, stay healthy, and stay out of trouble.
