Agapanthus ‘Charlotte White’ is a beautifully elegant African Lily, producing rounded clusters of pure white flowers held on tall, upright stems above neat, strap-like green foliage.
Flowering through summer, it brings a clean, architectural feel to outdoor spaces, working just as well in contemporary planting as it does in softer, more relaxed garden schemes. Its upright habit makes it perfect for adding height and structure to pots, patios and sunny borders.
Position: Best in full sun for strong flowering, though it will tolerate light partial shade.
Watering: Water regularly during dry periods, especially when grown in containers, but ensure good drainage.
Soil: Fertile, well-drained soil. A loam-based compost is ideal for pots.
Care: Deadhead spent blooms to keep the plant looking tidy. Feed during the growing season to encourage repeat flowering. In colder areas, protect from severe frost, particularly in containers.
Good to know: Agapanthus tend to flower best when slightly root-bound, making them an excellent choice for pots. A reliable perennial that will return year after year, gradually forming larger clumps over time.
