Welcome to Sumo Experience. Based in Woking, Surrey, we specialise in providing fully themed, sumo suit wrestling fun for your party. When you book with us you get all the fun of Sumo without having to put on a pound! The bulk you require will come by way of our top quality adult and children's foam padded sumo suits. We will provide your "Dohyo" (Sumo arena) with a specially marked out crash mat.

Your "Gyoji" (Sumo referee) will set everything up for you, explain the rules, organise the competition, score the bouts, add in a few surprises, and all with tongue firmly in cheek. There is no Sumo purism here, laughing is more important than winning. You will find as much fun in watching as you do wrestling. Along the way you will learn how to:

+ throw the salt,
+ parade before your supporters,
+ stamp on the ground to get set, as well as...
+ the big push that will set you, or your opponent, rolling on the ground like a beach ball. This will all happen at your place and with your friends, Family or Workmates. What makes us different from most other Sumo hire companies is that they just leave you with the suits; we give you a party to remember ... and the full Sumo Experience.

As a footnote, I just got a late traveling review from a party I did for a girl's 10th birthday in Woking from September:

"Good afternoon Martin,

I saw that your page is now marked as permanently closed, hope you are enjoying your retirement!

I'm sorry that we have been overwhelmed by house/school move and many other things, I didn't get the chance to write you a great Google review before the chance is gone. We have now collected the key to the new house, both kids have their dream school to go from January. I have to tell [son] that sad news that he couldn't have the same sumo party on his tenth birthday when it comes in 2029.

[Daughter] loves the book you gave her, she said it is one of the funniest books ever!

All the parents were impressed by how fun the party was, and your amazing ability to keep kids concentrated.

Sumo Experience is now closed after 19.5 years of business.
I want to say thank you and goodbye to all of you who have been my customers. It has been such a lot of fun, and I hope I leave you with a wealth of happy memories. Here are some photos just to remind you that I had the best job in the world.

At the end of it all, here are the stats
- 692 bookings
- over 11,000 participants
- 6.35km of cotton tape used to make 7937 bandanas
- 586 T-shirts sold
- 375 copies of The Animal Parables sold or gifted
- 4 suits
- 6 helmets
- 1 mat
- 6 smoke machines
- 5 boomboxes/speakers
- 5 kimonos
- 1 hat
- 1 gong
- £160K turnover

Britain has had 3 heatwaves in 3 weeks. For me, 5 sumo events and each one has been in a heatwave peak. This Thursday is the last in the run with a leaver's party in Ealing where it's forcast to be 30°C.

Thursday and Friday are both school leavers sumo events for me in the blazing outdoors again, Hammersmith and Richmond respectively. Sumo is like busses these days, none for ages the 3 in 1 week
