But many, like me, are humanist.

By that, I mean that I hold dear to the values of compassion, kindness, fairness and inclusivity throughout my professional and personal life.

Oxfordshire really does boast some amazing outdoor eating spots. I have a wedding coming up at one of them - The Isis Farmhouse.

Writing your own personal wedding vows?

Here are my top tips for writing probably the most important words of your life.

In all seriousness, my biggest vow writing tip would be to not overthink it.
Speak from the heart, write down something you love about your partner and the thing you love the most and the rest will come....

Happy 6th birthday to Lynn Tierney Ceremonies!

Six years ago today I started out on my celebrant journey with the naming ceremony for our granddaughter, Mia.

Six years, even counting 2020, of more naming ceremonies, a handful of vow renewals and many, many joyous weddings.

Like today's ceremony at Stone Barn for the much postponed and much awaited wedding celebration for S and D. Congratulations to this pair.

Where's the card table?

Before I leave you on your wedding day, I put together a presentation box with a copy of your wedding script, your readings, your vow cards and your signed certificate. Usually I leave it on the card table along with your other cards and gifts.

But it's always good to be able to let somebody know it's there in the hope that it won't get lost - that's never happened yet!!!

Task a Maid of Honour or your Best Man with this job to ensure that no gift gets left behind.

I absolutely LOVE outdoor weddings!!!

Outdoor weddings allow for endless and limitless ideas for your ceremony. Whether you arrange your wedding in a garden, a woodland, a farm or hire an outdoor venue with a magnificent tipi setup, nature will be the best backdrop for your special occasion.

Filled with lots and lots of candles, special seating areas of hay bales or comfy sofas, overall greenery and flowers, the setting and the details of outdoor weddings can be super whimsical and very romantic or crazy colourful with a festival vibe.
