Ok I’m jumping on the 2016 train… Mostly because it was a huge year for me. We immigrated to London after over a decade in Hong Kong. We arrived with a one year old, a pug and 200 boxes… I didn’t have many friends in the UK, none with children. It was a hugely challenging and exciting year. I don’t think I realised just how different our life was about to become. But it was a fantastic year too. We travelled through four continents… Bash started to walk and give me gray hair, I met incredible people in the UK; and was baking all day every day. We also lost two of the greats (Bowie and Prince…) but their music kept me going on the dark gray days. I’m so hoping 2026 brings equally as exciting adventures. I can’t wait to see what is in store for us… 🐎

I am so excited to be part of this Christmas market at my favourite pub. It’s going to be a cracker with some lovely vendors and Carol Cabaret in the evening- mince pies and festive cheer throughout the day, and my Christmas Crunch as well as other festive goodies from the Bashbites kitchen. It’s officially soup season!! It may just be my favourite season. Growing up in Mexico we started every meal with a bowl of soup; and to me it’s just comfort, a hug in a bowl. Heaven… I made a shredded chicken and buckwheat noodle soup out of my trusty chicken bone broth with all of the add ons… fresh mint coriander ginger and chilli slices, lashings of lime juice, black vinegar, soy sauce, crispy shallots…. And of course a hugely generous spot of Bashbites chilli crunch. What are you eating now the weather is changing??

There is nothing quite like a Mexican breakfast…

Ok we don’t eat breakfast till’ at least midday so let’s call it brunch. It’s spicy, it’s crunchy… it’s full of flavour.. there’s eggs involved and a salt rimmed glass.

While I have had many supper clubs in the Cotsowlds, this is the first time I’m hosting brunch. I cannot think of a better place to do so than the barn at the Bell…

I am SO excited for you to try the wonderful dishes we are creating; ingredients straight from the kitchen garden, from the eggs, to the chillies (expertly grown by Jez..) and everything in between it has been an joy putting this initial menu together.
It is one foodie experience I’d say, is worth coming to…

There’s so many breakfast dishes to choose from so I picked three for you to choose from and a few goodies for the table to share.

This was very very hard as there is so much Mexican goodness. But fear not, we plan to make this a regular thing with ever changing dishes to ensure you get to try it all!

I can’t wait to see you then.
