Witney Blooms is back with some exciting news!
At Witney Blooms, we support Windle Trust International’s belief that every girl deserves the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. This Sunday, from 10am to 2pm, Witney Blooms will be selling handcrafted bouquets at the Madley Park garage sale, with all proceeds going towards helping this to happen.
Windle Trust International is an Oxford-based charity that supports girls’ education in Sudan and South Sudan, a cause in dire need of support. As recently as 2018, only 33% of girls in South Sudan attended primary school, and only 6% continued to secondary school. Whilst the situation is improving after a lot of hard work, there’s still a very long way to go. More than 2.8 million children are still out of school there.
Windle Trust International tackle not just the economic barriers that South Sudanese girls face, but the traditional and cultural values too, working with communities to change mindsets and promote the value of education for all. When girls are educated, they are less likely to marry early, and their children are more likely to survive past the age of five. Educated women have fewer, healthier children and are better equipped to provide them with proper nutrition and healthcare.
By purchasing a bouquet from Witney Blooms on Sunday, you are directly contributing to the fight against the vicious cycle that a lack of education brings. You are alleviating poverty, reducing inequality, and bringing hope.
Your support will provide girls in South Sudan with access to quality education, and empower them to break free from poverty and gender discrimination. Together, we can create a brighter future for these girls, their families, and their communities.
So why not treat yourself or a loved one to some flowers, and help support this wonderful cause? See you at our stall on the French Square on Sunday!🤗💐💕
