After an incredible summer of junior golf in Essex, we bring our young golfers together for a celebration of their achievements with both today’s winners and the Order of Merit top performers being applauded.

The Norman Garon Trust Community Junior Tour provides an incredible platform for young golfers to gain experience of playing other courses and monitor their progress against their peers.

More than 320 young golfers have participated from Essex alone this year and we’re certain this years record total will be beaten again next year.

None of it would be possible without the incredible support from the Norman Garon Trust, nor would it evolve as it has without the dedication of Lawrence Kingsnorth and his team of helpers, Kate, Andy and Brian.

We look forward to celebrating all achievements today and begin laying the foundations for next year.

Trying to translate the websites for the Italian U16’s and Spanish U18’s isn’t the easiest thing in the world but what is clear to see is both Ollie and Frankie continue to shine.

It looks like the Italian U16’s is now complete with young Ollie finishing in a fantastic 11th place with a final 2 under par total of 217.

A total of 138 international U16’s began the tournament with 60 making the cut.

Ollie’s 11th position helped his England team to finish 3rd in the team rankings which all adds up to an incredible week for him. 👏👏👏

Over in Spain Frankie has a fourth and final round today and yesterday’s 1 under par round of 70 sees him sat in tied 26th at -3 for the tournament.

Go have a day today Frankie and see where your magic can take you on the final leaderboard.

66 & 70 for a 36 hole total of 136 (-6) was very deserving of the Romford Trophy title today.

A huge congratulations to our county captain Shaun Mills on your impressive victory today.

In tough conditions, two sub par rounds was exceptional golf and your 5 shot victory is nothing short of outstanding.👏

Whilst Shaun was the runaway winner, we finished with 30 players shooting a two round total of 150 (+8) or less which is a very credible standard.

In 2nd place, Timmy Moncur - 72 & 69
3rd place, Michael Gilbert - 74 & 69
4th place Louie Dennison - 74 & 69
5th place Josh Hussein - 72 & 72
6th place Tate Daly - 72 & 73

In our nett competition, Louie picked up 1st place, and showcasing there’s plenty of great golf left in our seniors, Simon Goy of Thorpe Hall was our nett runner up.

Well played today everyone, hope you all had an enjoyable day.

Round 1 proved to be tough going for most of this mornings competitors. Until the final group level par 71 was top of the leaderboard.

Freddie Rusbridge, Harrison Ellis, James Phillips and Rhys Hatcher all finished with level par totals but one player stands head and shoulders above the rest at the halfway stage.

Orsett’s Shaun Mills seemed oblivious to the blustery conditions, storming clear of the field with a stunning 5 under par score of 66 containing 7 birdies.

A very very could score but with 18 holes to play, there’s still a lot of golf left for the chasing pack.

It’s a big day at Romford Golf Club with the penultimate event in this years Order of Merit taking place.

The Romford Trophy is a fantastic annual fixture in the Essex Golf calendar and the top 4 of this years order of merit table are all on the start sheet.

36 holes strokeplay offers the opportunity for Bailee, Shaun and Adam to hunt down current leader Josh.

However two good rounds from Josh today could give him an unassailable lead going into Upminster next week but sometimes golf doesn’t work out so straightforward.

Who knew round 2 was moving day in Italy and Spain…?

Me neither, but Ollie and Frankie make their own rules up when it comes to their rapid progress.

Ollie banged in a cheeky 4 under par round of 69 to jump up to tied 6th in the Italian U16’s… 👏👏👏

And Frankie threw in a 3 under par 68 to jump up to tied 22nd in the Spanish U18’s. 👏👏👏

Both currently sit at -2 at the halfway stage of their respective tournaments.

Both Ollie and Frankie had solid first day grinds out in Italy and Spain ensuring they stay in the mix in their respective tournaments.

Ollie opened with a 2 over par round of 75 whilst Frankie returned a 1 over par 72.

We’re certain both will be looking to push on a little today and move themselves a little higher up the leaderboard.

We had a feeling that the Seniors Team Championship Final would be tight and the final scoreline of 7-4 doesn’t tell the full story.

With the first 5 matches all going up the last (4 of which finished all square) the end result could’ve been so different on another day.

Congrats to the team from Canons Brook and hard luck to Woolston Manor. 👏

Two of our young talents are competing over in Europe over the next few days and we send all our good luck wishes to Ollie and Frankie.

Ollie is out in Italy competing in the Italian U16’s Championships and Frankie is having a crack in the Spanish U18’s International.

We have another final on the agenda today with the magnificent Thorpe Hall Golf Club hosting our Seniors Team Championship finalists.

It’s Canons Brook and Woolston Manor contesting the final, having fought through 5 rounds to reach the big one. 💪

52 teams began the journey back in April and both our finalists came through incredibly tight semi-final matches, so we’re expecting an exciting finale to what is a brilliant seniors team competition.

Good luck to both teams, have a great day and may the best team win. 🏆
