🍎🍐 The absolute BEST season is nearly here! 🍏🌳

The orchard is coming alive and we’re getting so close to one of our favourite times of the year — harvest season! 🤍

We’ve had SO many messages asking when our local fruit box deliveries will be starting again, and we’re hoping to begin this week or next! 🚚🍎 Keep an eye on our page this week as we’ll be posting updates as everything becomes ready to pick.

Like many orchards and farms across the country, the heat and drought this year have made growing conditions particularly challenging, so unfortunately our quantities may be more limited than usual. Because of this, boxes will be available on a first come, first served basis.

We’re so excited to announce that our Orchard Boxes will be back for the 2026 harvest season!

Every Orchard Box is freshly picked from our family-run orchard in Wisbech St Mary and filled with a seasonal selection of whatever is at its very best. Depending on the harvest, this may include apples, pears, plums, quince and other delicious seasonal produce.

Every box is different because every week the orchard changes with the seasons. We pick fresh from the trees, meaning no two boxes are ever quite the same.

We’ve been receiving lots of lovely messages asking whether we will be opening our orchard for Pick Your Own fruit in the future.

With over 200 fruit trees, including a variety of apples, pears, plums and quince, it’s certainly something we’ve been considering! Imagine spending a few hours in the orchard, filling your baskets with fresh, tree-ripened fruit straight from the source. 🍏🍐🍑

Teaching the next generation where food comes from.

🌱 From garden to plate 🌱

One of the greatest gifts we can give children is an understanding of where their food comes from.

This week, our little helper was busy harvesting potatoes and onions from the vegetable garden. There was so much excitement digging through the soil and discovering what had been growing beneath the surface!

Alongside our orchard, we also grow a variety of vegetables including potatoes, onions, peas, beans and Swiss chard. Watching children learn how food is grown, harvested and enjoyed is something truly special.

In a world of supermarkets and convenience, there is something magical about planting a seed, caring for it, and eventually eating the food you’ve grown yourself. 🌱💚

🚨 ORCHARD UPDATE 🚨

Things are moving quickly here…

The pears are forming, the apples are growing, and the plums are absolutely loaded this year 🍐🍏🍑

Just look at how much everything has changed already.

Harvest season will soon be here, with the first fruit expected from August onwards.

Last year many of our fruit boxes sold out faster than we expected, and we’re already getting messages asking when the season begins.

The answer? Not long now 👀

🌳 Behind the scenes at The Orchard – Cambridgeshire…

The RW Landscaping LTD team are currently clearing and chipping through our mature orchard as we continue bringing it back to life.

A lot of the reduction work has already been carefully carried out over the past couple of months — and now, with some of the trees beginning to bud (all at different stages), it’s about maintaining and working with the orchard at the right time.

Orchard management isn’t a quick job — it takes patience, knowledge, and consistency over the years to get the best from the trees.

Luckily, we’ve got RW Landscaping behind it — specialists in tree surgery and grounds maintenance 💪

This is just the beginning of the journey 🍏✨
