Today marks the 45th anniversary of the scorching second album by Birmingham reggae legends UB40. Titled “Present Arms”, the release was recorded at the Music Centre Studio in Wembley, London & released on 29th May 1981. It mixed awesome heavy reverb drenched roots reggae with fiercely anti-establishment vocals to stunning effect. “Present Arms” reached number 2 on the UK album chart & spawned 2 Top 20 hits. “Don’t Let It Pass You By” reached number 16 & the superb anti-Thatcher anthem “One In Ten” reached number 7.
