What a lovely way to break up the day! 😊

One of the best things about having a marquee just down the road is that I can pop up, check on the boys, and take the dogs for a little walk too. 🐾

This beautiful 40ft x 40ft traditional pole marquee is all ready for a lovely wedding this weekend, and doesn’t it look amazing? Everything is looking absolutely s***k and span. In fact, we’ll probably be able to hear the music from our house, which will be rather nice! 🎶🤍

If you’re thinking about hiring a marquee for 2027, we’d love to hear from you. We still have some availability, and while next year is a little quieter than this one (which has been incredibly busy!), it gives us the chance to work on some exciting new projects too.

We’re also keeping everything crossed as we’re in the process of buying a new house. The plan is to turn our current home into a luxury Airbnb, with the possibility of hosting marquee celebrations in the garden. It’s all very exciting… but as we all know, house sales can have a mind of their own, so we’re not celebrating just yet! 🤞

A beautiful day to be putting up a marquee… although it was very hot work for the lads! ☀️🥵

Ladies, don’t get too excited when you see Russell in his shorts and the rest of the boys with their tops off… or, better still, make sure you’ve finished your breakfast first! 😂

Nice early start this week as we’re putting up both a traditional pole marquee and a stretch tent for this event, with plenty of decorating still to come.

It’s a busy one for us—we’ve already taken one marquee down this week, put another one up, and we’ve still got another to dismantle. Most of the tables, chairs and cosy corners are coming straight from that event to this one.

It’s full-on, but we’re incredibly grateful for all the work. 💚

Five beautiful bell tents and one 60ft x 40ft marquee all set up and ready for an amazing event. ⛺✨

Another fantastic installation finished by the Dottie Events & Hire team. Now we’re on our way home, leaving everything ready for our clients to enjoy.

✨ A glamorous day at Dottie Events & Hire… 😂

No pretty marquees or fairy lights today—just mountains of washing up from the weekend’s wedding! 🧽☀️

With the heat we’ve had, everything has baked on, so every plate, cup and saucer is getting a good pre-soak before it’s carefully hand washed. Our vintage china is too delicate for the dishwasher, so every single piece is washed by hand.

Once it’s all sparkling clean, it gets packed away ready for the next hire… and yes, when it goes out again, it gets another wash! I know it sounds a bit over the top, but I’m a bit obsessive when it comes to dust and making sure everything arrives absolutely spotless. ✨

Not the most glamorous part of running a marquee business, but it’s all part of making every wedding and event as special as it should be.

Another one down! 🎪💪

This marquee has now been taken down and, apart from a slight yellowing of the grass that will disappear over the next week or so, you won’t even be able to tell we were ever here.

It’s all part of what we do – creating the space for your special event and leaving everything neat and tidy once the celebrations are over.

Next up is a big installation on Thursday… a stretch tent and marquee setup. 👀✨

Isn’t it great that summer finally feels like it’s on the way ☀️

It’s been a long winter… not loads going on for me and Russell. Well, that said, Russell’s been busy starting a new business doing training on construction sites and farms (which he’s absolutely loved), but that’s starting to wind down now as it’s quite seasonal.

So now it’s all about getting ready for marquee season 👀

I’ve been keeping myself busy with a bit of painting, walking the dogs, and plenty of coffee dates with friends ☕🐾 but now it’s nearly time to get properly back to it… probably more so for me than Russell!

We’re both ready though… bring on the busy season 💪✨

Down at the unit today and it’s full steam ahead 🚛💨

Russell’s officially finished his winter teaching job, so now it’s all hands on deck getting everything ready for wedding season.

It’s a big sort-out day… checking, counting, organising – making sure every last bit is exactly where it should be. Plus, new racking going in today 🙌

Over the next few months I’ll (hopefully!) have lots more to show you behind the scenes… but for now, it’s Russell and Glenn hard at it getting everything prepped and ready 💪
