Long post .
Blood 🩸 sweat 😰 and tears 😭 and a few bruises but I have done it! Project Ice Cream Van 🚐 🍦and boy has it has kept me busy, I started at the end of January and I’m happy to say it is now finished.
I have watched many YouTube videos. And this has been an absolute labour of love for me. 🍦
I have scraped off the roof 26 years worth of paint, and I’m telling you that was not for the faint hearted. It took weeks. There were lots of times I wish I had never started and thought what the hell have I done.
once I’d done that I then re-fibreglass the roof (yes you read right) Never done it before watched a few videos on YouTube bought a professional kit and boom 💥 so impressed with the roof. It was then primed and painted in the right paint. Then the next job was to tackle the awful skylight that didn’t open. And I am super impressed with this bit ,loving the edging managed to cut the square straight to fit in the hole .
Can’t believe how amazing it looks because it really really was hard work. I have new boarding in my overhead compartment as the previous had got damp from a leak that has very successfully been repaired I become an expert at wrapping that’s taken a lot of patience, but I got there in the end loving the grey too it goes really well with that awful yellow (I’m just gonna have to put up with for a little bit longer) I have added a triple slush machine thanks to Leo and his mates for managing to lift it up and actually get it in the van. It is the heaviest thing ever. The Freezer and the fridge counter have also been wrapped in a transparent vinyl so it’s all easily wipeable. I have removed all the horrible plastic shelving and now have nice new black shelving with black shelving rails which looks really nice I have
applied bars at the front, so my stock doesn’t fall off while I’m driving. I’m super proud of what I’ve achieved.
a new floor has been laid and I will always remember the rule measure twice cut once 😂 the engine has had new belts and a little service ( can’t take the credit for that bit tho
I really didn’t think I would ever finish it, I have got a few little bits left to do to finish it off but it’s pretty much there and ready to go out.
Here are some photo of my project ☺️
