A wedding breakfast doesn’t have to mean sitting back and waiting for the speeches. 🎤✨

For Ella and Liam’s wedding at Voco Oxford Thames, I combined the magic with hosting to get the whole room involved. A few guests up on their feet, plenty of laughs and some magic involving the newlyweds themselves.

This is one of my favourite parts of hosting a wedding. It’s not about turning the day into a big formal production, it’s about keeping everything flowing, getting guests involved and creating a fun atmosphere around the moments that matter.

And judging by Ella and Liam’s faces, I think we managed that! 😂

hese are the moments I love creating at weddings. The reactions, the laughter and that split second where everyone is trying to work out what on earth just happened. 😂✨

Laura and Adam’s wedding at Easthampstead Park was full of them. Performing during the drinks reception gave me the chance to mix with different groups, get guests laughing together and create a real buzz before everyone headed into the wedding breakfast.

It’s one of the reasons close-up magic works so well at this part of the day. There’s no stopping the celebration for a show, I simply move amongst your guests and the entertainment happens right in their hands. 🃏

This is what wedding hosting should look like to me. Not overly formal or taking over the day, just keeping everything moving, getting the guests involved and making sure there’s plenty of fun along the way. 🎤

Emily and Jack’s wedding at Wokefield Estate was a brilliant example. From getting the whole room involved to introducing the important moments and adding a little magic along the way, my job as host is really about keeping the energy up and making sure everyone knows what’s happening without the day ever feeling too structured. ✨

Some wedding tables are just an absolute gift to perform for. You start with a few people watching, then suddenly everyone’s leaning in, people are getting out of their seats and the reactions just keep getting bigger. 😂

There’s something I really love about performing magic during the wedding breakfast. Everyone’s settled in, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it’s the perfect time to move between the tables creating a bit of fun and some great reactions along the way. ✨

A brilliant black-tie evening at The Mayfair Hotel in London, with plenty of great moments happening around the tables. Some of the best reactions come when guests are least expecting it, and this group were absolutely brilliant. ✨
