The Bridal Gallery has now officially closed 💔

The past four years have been filled with love, laughter, and the honour of helping so many incredible women find the dress of their dreams.

Closing this chapter was a tough call – not for lack of passion, but because of the risks involved in investing further against the backdrop of a challenging bridal landscape.

To every bride who trusted me, every mum, sister, and friend who walked through the doors, and every kind word left in a review – thank you. You’ve made this experience unforgettable.

From day one, The Bridal Gallery was built with love and purpose – and it ends with a full heart.

Huge congratulations Eleanor & Jonson, from childhood sweethearts to Mr & Mrs 🥰

Eleanor looks effortlessly elegant, as well as supremely beautiful in her 1940s-inspired Clemmie dress, precious daisy flower crown and her custom French lace-trim veil.

It was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to work with Eleanor, to get to know her, her dear mum Ruth, her gran & Pixie the dog during the past 14 months ☺️

When a bride starts her wedding journey, it’s typically the first time she’s experienced shopping for her wedding gown, and let’s face it, it’s a slightly different shopping mission from popping out to get a new t-shirt.

Selecting your dress will be made up of a myriad of decisions, some of them conscious, others less so, so I wanted to chat about fabric and the role it plays in your wedding-dress decision.

Bridal designers are a clever bunch, they know their duchesse satins from their mikados, their marocain silk crepes from their silk organzas, their tulles from their chiffons and when they start a dress design, the look they want to achieve will be dependent on the fabric they choose. It will determine the form, the structure, the drape and the overall aesthetic they want to achieve.

Today, we’re showcasing mikado, a luxurious & opulent fabric which is renowned for its weight, texture and lustre, it really is the daddy of bridal fabrics (in my opinion ☺️), characterised by its sheen which exudes sophistication and elegance and is the perfect choice for creating a statement silhouette.
