We talk a LOT about our outdoor ceremonies… and honestly, can you blame us? Getting married with Lake Windermere behind you is pretty hard to beat 🤍

But can we have a moment for ceremonies in the Barn?

The lights are twinkling, the candles are lit, everyone you love is gathered beneath those old beams and stone walls… and it all feels ridiculously romantic.

And choosing the Barn doesn’t mean missing out on everything else you came to Town Head for.

Katie & Holly had drinks outside, disappeared off for photographs around the courtyard and gardens, and headed down to the lake as the sun began to drop behind the fells.

The best of both worlds, really.

So, if you’ve always pictured yourself saying “I do” outside, we totally get it. But wait until you see the Barn dressed for a ceremony…

It all starts here, the night before you say “I do” 🤍✨

Your dress hanging beneath the chandelier. Bubbles in the roll-top bath. A glass of something lovely in hand and those views across the grounds while you try to take in the fact that tomorrow, you’re getting married here.

The Honeymoon Cottage is yours for all that excitement the night before… and then, once the confetti has settled and you’re officially newlyweds, you get to come back to it all over again.

This time, there’s a hot tub under the stars, nowhere you need to be, and everything you need for a very slow first morning of married life.

One cosy cottage. Two very different moments. And quite possibly one of our favourite places at Town Head.

We know we’re biased, but who else has a serious soft spot for the Honeymoon Cottage? 🤍

Every piece of hair pinned, every button done up, and one last look in the mirror before you step out to see your girls.

Then come the squeals, the tears, the hands over mouths and a whole lot of oh my god, you look incredible!!

These are the people who have been there through it all. The ones who’ll hype you up like no one else, cry before you do, and, importantly, tell you if you’ve got something in your teeth.

And after a morning spent getting ready together, this is the moment it all suddenly feels very real.

One reveal down, with a few more still to come 🤍

The drinks reception. Arguably the most fun part of a wedding – the magical period of time between saying “I do”, and sitting down to your wedding breakfast.

The time when the hard work is over, and you’re staring at each other like you can’t believe you actually did it. Everyone is just a bit giddy, absolutely ready for their first drink and peckish for REALLY good canapés.

It’s the first opportunity for a good catch up with people you haven’t seen in ages. Nobody has fallen in a bush or lost their phone, and the whole of the rest of the day is still there to look forward to.

Great receptions cater to everyone… the food lovers, the dancers, the lake dippers, and everyone in between. They set the tone for the Best. Wedding. Ever. We have options for everyone, so what is it going to be? 💫

The rooms that don’t always get the attention they deserve…

Just beside the famous Honeymoon Suite sits the East Wing. Georgian panelling, bathrooms, and whimsical bedrooms for the guests you want close by, plus a ground floor room built for anyone who needs easier access.

It’s one of our most gorgeous spaces, and one we’d happily hand over to our nearest and dearest. Usually filled with laughter, music and screams of excitement on the morning of the wedding, as everyone gets ready for the day ahead.

Who’s staying in the East Wing? 🤍

Whoever said don’t rock the boat….probably had a point…..😳

There are certainly better ways to experience the magic of Lake Windermere than falling in face first on your wedding day, but this was comedy gold….😂😂😂 Fortunately the Boat House ceremony was already safely under the belt, as well as some fabulously atmospheric pictures on (as opposed to in) the lake.

Thank goodness for all our sakes our amazing couple saw the funny side… A quick blow dry later and they were good to go!

Nobody will forget that wedding in a hurry…..😂

Vows at the Lake View Terrace, Lake Windermere opening up behind you, you think that surely nothing today will top that view…

But then it’s canapés on the lawn, an hour or two lost to sun and chatter with your favourite people, and when the barn doors open in front of you it literally takes your breath away as you see the picture you’ve only ever carried in your head brought to life in front of you.

It was heaven in butter yellow for Melissa & Jack, every detail immaculate, right down to the napkins (we definitely don’t do things by halves).

These little moments, one after another, are what bring your vision for the day together. Watching them unfold is honestly the best part of our job🤍
