2nd 3rd May.

OB1 must have been with us with the force for sure a day early, may the forth be with us.

Best results for us so far this year.

Made up places in every heat, and a podium for the final, first one of the year.

Heat 1: P9📈P6 (otr) Nose cone Penalty went back to 11th
Heat 2: P16📈P9
Heat 3: P8📈P5
Final: P4📈P2

Proper front end pace with help from Charlie Turner for driver coaching, so extra training paid off.

Thanks also to Loz Boyington motorsport for the awning space.

FEKC round 2

What a change from round 1!!

Things were on our Side.

Saturday.
Using old tyres untill lunchtime we were keeping in the top half of timings, then with some better rubber on for the afternoon we were competitive on race pace.

Sunday:

Practice: P1 very good practice setting the pace in practice.

Heat 1: P8📈p4
A strong heat getting into the top 5 with some very strong overtakes. After the red flag went a good restart moving up one more place for a P4 finish.

Heat 2: p20📈p5
A very good heat lots of places from the back of the pack up to the top 5 again.
I got a very strong start gaining lots of places and carried on till the end.

Heat 3:P4📉P5
A decent staying in the top 5 to my front start. A mistake in this cost us a place but still showing we could stay with the front runners.

Final: P4📉P9
A difficult final for us getting into 3rd at the first corner before going slightly wide and loosing a couple positions. A slight miscalculation of the pressures meant we were a bit low and struggled to turn the tyre on. So a difficult start meant we settled into the race at p7 however starting to loose speed due to a lack of fitness and not expecting the longer 12 minute final, meant we went backwards to p9.

Overall it was a solid weekend finishing all heats and no mechancial issues and strong racecraft with a few key takeaways that we know we need to work on. Looking forward to the next round. Off to the gym for me.

I want to say a huge thank you to Charlie turner for all the help and support throughout the weekend. DLM for the awning space. A huge thank you to OB1 aswell for the continued support to my racing! Lastly Geroge Robinson Robinson Racing for the WAFT!!

FEKC Round 1: Weathering the Storm at Forest Edge.

The season opener at Forest Edge was nothing short of a rollercoaster.
This was our first race of the year after taking the winter off, so we knew we had our work cut out for us.
In addition we missed out on Saturday due to previous commitments.
With the heavens opening on Sunday, we leaned into the wet conditions, ready to hunt for some podium pace.

The Heats: Trials by Water and Rubber

Heat 1: In a rain-soaked opener, lap-one chaos led to a nosecone penalty that put me on the back foot. Despite a tricky carb setting, I managed to claw back positions on track, proving the pace was there even when the luck wasn't.

Heat 2: Starting from the front, the stage was set for a massive result. Unfortunately, the racing gods had other plans—a puncture on the opening lap forced a DNF by lap two. It was a tough pill to swallow, but we kept our heads high, as that's racing.

Heat 3 (P10 📈 P7): Finally, the race gremlins were on our side, gaining 4 positions on the opening lap and losing out on only one of those places to the race winner.

The Final: Heartbreak & High Speed

The final was shaping up to be a masterclass in recovery. We resolved our minor technical issues and the kart was running well.
Unfortunately, while pushing the limits, a slight wide run onto the grass caused the floor tray to fold under the kart. It was a freak mechanical end to a very promising run. But hey, that’s racing! 🤷‍♂️ This is an issue that plagued a few drivers this weekend, as due to the bad weather the track repairs still need to be finished.

Moving Forward 📈
A massive thank you to OB1/OB41for your continued support—I’m incredibly excited about what we’re building together this year.

Huge shoutout to Ollie Hancock and Charlie Turner for the expert guidance and support throughout the weekend.

We leave Round 1 knowing we have the speed to run at the front. The luck will turn, the floor trays will stay flat, and we’re coming for it at Round 2!

Next up: 🔜 FEKC Round 2

We are delighted to announce that we will be in partnership again with OB1 for the 2026 season, as brand ambassadors.

Their continued support has enabled us to keep racing the Forest Edge Championship in Senior Rotax, hoping to improve our results from our first season in Seniors last year.

We will be attending various events throughout the year with OB1/OB41 and they will visit the track to do some product demos and give away some of their fantastic products.

FEKC Round 9

We went into the final round of the season with confidence as we have shown pace and racecraft throughout the season but just haven’t managed to pull a perfect day out the bag yet and we were hoping this was going to be it.

Saturday: An interesting day Saturday trying out a new chassis that we have never driven on before so a few changes had to be made and by the end of the i felt comfortable with the kart and decided we were gonna race on that for Sunday.

Heat 1: p5-p22

This was our front heat and due to normal decent pace is wet and changing conditions we were confident of a great finish in this heat. However Due to changing conditions we made the wrong choices for set up meaning that with no grip and a very hard fought race we sadly slipped back from 5th to 15th, with the help of a nosecone as well pushing us back further.

Heat 2:p21-p12

A much better heat this time gaining 9 places with a lot of hard racing throughout and showing we had pace to be at the front.

Heat 3: p19-p11

Again gaining a considerable amount of places nearly pushing into the top 10 this time we knew had the pace for a good result.

Final:p15-p23

After a solid first final start gaining a couple places and looking to push into the top 10, and improve our overall best final result, a red flag stopped the race and paused my progress. However after the full restart we were taken out on lap 1 after an overly ambitious move by an inexperienced competitor in turn 1 cost us the race dropping us back to last, and 10 seconds off the last kart, however, I managed to gain a few places back to climb to p23 but it wasn’t the results we wanted to end the season on sadly.

Overall it’s been an interesting season with a lot of highs and a lot of lows but most importantly we secured p6 in the championship overall with consistent results and moving forward MOSTLY on every race final. As we started the season this is far higher than we expected, so we are very pleased. Looking to improve on this result for next season.

Myself and my Dad want to say a huge thanks to OB1 for all the support this season I couldn’t have done it without you guys.

Thanks to Guy Cunnington Racing and for the help and coaching on track and to for the mega waft all season. Also for giving me the change to do my work experience with you this year, I am learning huge amounts every day.
Also like to thank Alan from OB1 for coming out to support us and cheer us on whenever possible, always a pleasure to have you at the track.

Whilst all the above is great we must not forget to thank for putting the events on each month and running great events, and what season could be finished off without a great deal of thanks to the hardest working guys at the track of the Orange army and all the scrutineers with out which no one would be going racing.

Next time we’re out in a couple weeks back to Camberly for the Roy Mortara 🔜 at Camberly Kart Club.

Thanks also to all of our social media followers that check in with thumbs up and praise after every round.
