Tracks where wheels sink.

Soft ground is where a wheeled dumper gets stuck and a tracked one keeps going. Yanmar's tracked dumpers spread their weight across the tracks, so mud, wet clay and freshly laid ground won't hold up the job.

Tight access? The C08-A is just 810 mm wide, slips through a garden gate and still carries 800 kg. Bigger loads? The C30R-3 takes 2,500 kg, and the C50R-5A moves 3,800 kg with up to 2.3 m³ in the skip.

Dexam International are a kitchenware distributor in West Sussex. Their fleet had to work in tight racking aisles and handle the loading bay and the yard outside. One truck was never going to do both well.

Konecranes reach stackers lift up to 80 tonnes, the forklifts run from 10 to 65, and the empty container handlers stack eight containers high. Steel coils, timber, wind turbine components, shipping containers: if it will not go on a pallet, there is a truck here that will take it.

That's the Manitou 160 ATJ+. The standard 160 ATJ takes 230 kg and two operators, so the plus gives you nearly double the payload and room for a third pair of hands, plus a bigger 2.30 m x 0.90 m basket and 16.21 m working height.

Fewer trips up and down means less standing around and more of the job finished while you're up there.

Everything the machine weighs, and everything it lifts, goes through its tyres. They are usually the last part anyone looks at. Manitou approves a specific tyre for every machine it builds, tested for sidewall resistance, traction and stability, so the reference on the sidewall matters as much as the price on it.

Until the end of August, every construction tyre in that approved range is 15% off at Locators. Camso, Michelin, Trelleborg, Mitas and Aeolus.

Two minutes on the yard will tell you where yours are. Check how far the lugs have dropped, look for cuts in the sidewall, and see whether the wear is even. Send us your machine model and serial number and we will come back with the right reference and a price.
