Stephanie and Dmytro had a midsummer sunset handfasting at the magnificent Stonehenge, a beautifully peaceful and spiritual ceremony, surrounded by the towering stones.

I am always drawn to memorable weddings in incredible spaces, and Stonehenge is unique in many ways; with so much history, but also the simplicity of being out in, and surrounded by the elements which are celebrated in the ceremony, as the shadows from the stones lengthen towards sunset. A wedding I will never forget.

What a privilege to be allowed to photograph up high in the incredible York Minster, looking down from the organ loft as Aimee made her grand entrance to meet Adam last week, like a scene from a royal wedding, it was magnificent, and the atmosphere incredible.

Adam is the assistant organist at the Minster and they both live in the grounds which is how I was allowed up high, and why capturing the grandeur of the Minster was so important to them.

The day progressed to field games and a very lively Ceilidh, reflecting Adam’s Scottish roots. A truly perfect day!

I’m delighted to have picked up not one, but two story awards in the latest round of This is Reportage, the first was for Ruby and Steve’s fun filled wedding at their activity centre in Shropshire. Choosing just 20 frames that told the story from all the fun and shenanigans that I had to leave out was incredibly difficult! But that’s what it’s all about, telling the story in just 20 images.

As ever, it was incredibly difficult to pick up an award, from over 9,500 images submitted the judges for this round chose 19 Story Awards. So it’s mind blowing to have picked up two of these!

The second of my recent This is Reportage winning stories features Katie and Jamie, an incredible day at the beautiful Walton Castle, featuring their incredible dog - who really was the star of the show, and made the day totally his...

From over 10,000 images subitted across the Reportage Aawards, the judges chose just 34 story awards this round, so it was an honour to pick up two of these.

Storytelling is the core of what I do, and there is a real challenge and art to distilling a day down into a small selection of images that capture the story with interest and variety in each image, which is why these awards are so hard to win.

An amazing day to be part of with Beth and Huw at the beautiful Marshwood Manor - the most perfect woodland ceremony, with the rings expertly delivered by Cobweb, the gorgeous barn owl.

The team from Asado Fire Kitchen spent all day cooking an incredible Asado, a real centrepiece feast which took all day to craft, and tasted absolutely incredible.

And the day finished with a lovely Ceildh from Ceilidh Tree, making the most of the last of the midsummer’s day sun.

What a perfect day!

There is only one song that will get every single person on the wedding dancefloor sitting down, I’m sure you don’t need me to tell you what it is! It was so good, the band played it twice! What a moment this was for Ruby and Steve on Saturday, in the heart of all this.

I’ll always stay as long as you need into the party, because you just never know when magic moments like this are going to happen.

A little bit of behind the scenes fun for today. 

As I’m primarily a documentary photographer, I don’t like to direct or control the scene, as I feel it interrupts the flow. Lily had her veil fitting and finishing touches upstairs at Deans Court before meeting her dad, and shooting across the room, I would have had the bathroom and toilet in the background, less than ideal! 

So I went the other way, using the corridor entrance to the bathroom as a frame, and I really liked it, as the arms coming in add context without seeing the make up and hair artists (amazing as they are!)

The only thing is I had to get back as far as possible and low for the frame, and well, there was only one place……

In the theme of Behind The Scenes, I’ll title this “How I Sh*t This”…

What a scorcher of a day for Lily and Mike, married in the stunning Wimborne Minster, with their reception at the incredible Deans Court just over the road. A really local wedding for me with all my travels recently. Fun on the lawn with a sountrack from Acoustic Jass, and then dancing the night away to the fabulous Technicolour band, accompanied by some seriously amazing Bao Buns. What a day!
