We started the day in their childhood homes and mass at the chapel in the heart of the Glens. Every moment and detail of the day was almost as stunning as the love these two have for each other. Wedding and elopement vows can feel a bit daunting, I’ve had couples like John & Cecie who decided that they would prefer to exchange handwritten letters on a cliff top in the final light of day. I’ve documented hundreds of weddings & elopement ceremonies over the years and I still remember this moment being electric. There was just an emotional energy as these guys sat at the end of an incredibly beautiful day and quietly wept as they read each others letters. This is why eloping in Ireland is the best way to get married, you get to do things your way and celebrate your marriage in a way that makes you both feel completely safe and peaceful. So if your dreading saying your vows because you know you’re going to ugly cry then why not change things up? You could you private vows on your own or even exchange letters like these guys. There are no rules! You get to do “getting married“ however you want.
