Dearest Gentle Reader,

The heritage of Queen Charlotte’s Ball is a tale as old as society itself, steeped in elegance, splendour and whispered intrigue.

Once the pinnacle of London’s Season, this illustrious event has found new fame through Netflix’s Bridgerton, yet it remains very much alive today, shimmering with gowns, jewels and tradition.

For 2026, Debbie Marks Luxury Event Planner, Designer & Decor Expert and House of Verve return to lead the styling of this glittering occasion, with a brand-new theme yet to be revealed.

And Tom Coleman | Social Media Expert and the team are returning too, ready once again to be your eyes and ears behind the velvet curtain. From the secret preparations to the grand unveiling, every exquisite detail shall be revealed across social media.

You may be feeling blue if you are not coming along, but you certainly will not be when you see the results of this year’s efforts…

Keep your eyes peeled. The secrets of this magical night will soon be revealed.

Tomorrow, we return once again to the Queen Charlotte’s Ball, an event we have been designing and styling since 2006.

Since then, every year has brought a new creative direction and a completely different transformation.

Before we reveal the design for this year, we’re taking you back to last year.

The design centred around a theme with particular significance.

To mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, the poppy became the heart of the room. Hundreds filled the ballroom, carried through the florals, place cards and evening brochure, with rich gold accents bringing warmth and elegance to the space.

It was a design created to honour the meaning behind the occasion while still capturing the elegance and celebration of the Ball.

Now, the focus turns to this year and creating something completely different once again.

A new year. A new look.
And a fresh vision for this historic ball.

A styling trend we’re seeing more and more right now?
Going all in on one colour.

Monochromatic styling is having a moment, and we can see why.

Rather than introducing lots of different colours into a room, one palette is carried throughout the design, from the florals and tablescapes to the draping, furniture and lighting.

But monochromatic doesn’t mean everything has to match perfectly.

It’s the different shades, textures and finishes within that colour that give the design depth and stop the room feeling flat.

And whether it’s deep blue, rich red, soft pink or something completely unexpected, committing to one colour can completely transform the mood of a room.

The question is, which colour would you go all in on?

What if your favourite beauty store became your very own for the night? 💄✨

For Ruby’s Bat Mitzvah at the Manchester Victoria & Albert Hotel, that was exactly the brief.

This wasn’t simply about creating a beauty themed celebration. We created Ruby’s very own brand experience, complete with black and white stripes, hot pink details and, of course, RUBY taking centre stage.

From cutting the ribbon on her own shop front before 150 guests arrived, to a bespoke 16ft dance floor featuring the beauty brands she genuinely loves, every part of the room was designed around Ruby.

A custom bar and DJ booth, bespoke staging, branded merchandise, a glam station, edible make up, personalised food stations, a magazine cover photo booth and plenty more all became part of the experience.

And behind it all was our team, arriving at 7am to begin the transformation and leaving at 4.30am the following morning once the ballroom had been returned to exactly how we found it.

But somewhere in between came the moment that made all of that work worthwhile. Ruby walking through her own shop front, with her name in lights, into a room created entirely around her.

Her mum later told us, “You fulfilled Ruby and my dream.” ❤️

And that’s exactly what we set out to do.
There is so much more to this celebration than we could fit into one post.

Head over to our website to read the full story and discover everything that went into creating Ruby’s unforgettable celebration. ✨

Turns out, creating extraordinary events is kinda chic. ✨

Behind every finished room are months of ideas, design, planning and plenty happening behind the scenes that guests will never see.

From bespoke builds and statement florals to draping, staging and complete room transformations, we love taking an idea and working out exactly how to bring it to life.

And when it all comes together to create something beyond what anyone imagined?

That’s what makes us kinda chic.

The celebrations people remember always have something that stands out. We love creating those details.

Every event we design is different, which is why so much of what we create is bespoke. From dance floors and staging to personalised installations and statement features, everything is designed and made, giving us the freedom to create something truly unique.

For Coby’s Bar Mitzvah, that included a bespoke black gloss circular dance floor, oversized illuminated COBY letters and a custom-designed stage. Together, they transformed the room into one unforgettable statement.

Because it’s those bespoke details that make every celebration one of a kind.
