Whitby Steampunk Weekend XIX ~ Feb 2026
SPECIAL GUEST AUTHOR ANNOUNCEMENT:
PAUL ECCENTRIC
Introducing Author, Poet and raconteur Paul Eccentric who will be reading excerpts from his astonishingly rip roaring new book, The Gin Wars – Volume One, The Pull of Penhalligan's Pier at Whitby Steampunk Weekend XIX (times tbc)
"England, 1901, and the world as they knew it is over.
In the wake of The Twin Dilemmas: The Ad Astra War and the Great Solar Storms that followed, a full third of the world's population have been wiped out, and so begins a fight for survival for all those who were left behind. A new generation must rise up from the ashes to take the place of the old...
Gordon Periwinkle is gone: missing, presumed by most to be dead; just another casualty of all that happened. What remains of the British monarchy, along with the emergency government, are in hiding in the country until order can be restored.
However, not everyone believes the hype: Gordon's daughter, Boudicca for one, and she won't rest until she's solved the mystery of her father's inexplicable disappearance once and for all..."
The Periwinkle Perspective: 'The Gin Wars Trilogy' follows on directly from the original Periwinkle Perspective hexalogy. You haven't read them? Shame on you! But don't stress, you can always go BACK and read them AFTER you've read this!
Paul will have a trade stand within the upper hall of Whitby Pavilion over Whitby Steampunk Weekend XIX ~ Feb 2026 where you will be able to purchase various merchandise and books, including The Periwinkle Perspective and The Gin Wars books, which he will be happy to personally dedicate for you!
About our Special Guest:
Paul has been writing and performing for over forty years. Having played Glastonbury seven times, and performed at countless other festivals across the land every year, he rather enjoys the solitary life of the writer!
He is probably best known as the mouthy half of dyslexic poetry duo ‘The Antipoet’: the beatrantin’ rhythm’n views act that currently takes up most of his life.
Paul lives in Aston Clinton, Buckinghamshire with his goat, Gizmo, various chickens, two cats, a very naughty tortoise and his long suffering wife, Donna.
