Whissendine Feast Week are delighted to support the Rutland Parkinson's Support Group, which meets once a month on a Thursday morning in Oakham. The group offers a warm and welcoming place for people living with Parkinson's, along with their families and carers, to meet over tea and coffee, share experiences, enjoy conversation and provide one another with friendship and support.

We hope our donation will help the group continue the valuable work it does for people across the local community. 💚

💚Giving Back to Our Community💚

One of the greatest achievements of Whissendine Feast Week is the opportunity to support local organisations and give something back to the community.

We are delighted to have recently made a donation to Whissendine Brownies, helping the group purchase new outdoor play equipment. The new equipment will provide the Brownies with even more opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities, develop new skills, build confidence and have fun together. We are pleased to be able to support such a fantastic group that plays an important role in the lives of many young people within our village.

🌾 Whissendine Feast Week 2026 - One to remember! 🌾

Over the course of the week, our village came together to enjoy an incredible programme of events, including the Big Whissendine Fete, Open Gardens, Scarecrow Competition, Comedy Night, Wine Tasting, Magic Night, the Duck Race, Quiz Night, Whissendine Six, the Feast Week Finale and so much more.

This years Feast Week saw:
🎉 20 fantastic events
💥Sold out events
👥 Over 1,000 attendees throughout the week
🌾 40+ scarecrows displayed across the village
🦆 300 ducks entered into the Duck Race
🪴12 Open Gardens welcoming visitors
💚 An estimated £13,000 raised collectively across all of our village organisations to support our village and future community events.

Whether you volunteered your time, sponsored an event, entered a competition, bought a ticket, hosted an activity or simply came along to enjoy the festivities, thank you. Every contribution helped make this year's Feast Week one to remember.

We're incredibly proud of what our community has achieved together and are already looking
forward to doing it all again next year!

💚That's a wrap on Whissendine Feast Week 2026! 💚

What an incredible week it was!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make this year's Feast Week such a fantastic success. From our volunteers and committee members, to our sponsors, local businesses, event organisers, performers, stall holders and everyone who attended or took part, we couldn't have done it without you.

It was wonderful to see our village come together to enjoy so many fantastic events and create a real sense of community spirit.

Thank you for your continued support. We hope you enjoyed Feast Week as much as we enjoyed organising it.

🦆 What a quacking afternoon! 🦆

Although the hot weather meant our brook had completely dried up, that didn't stop the Whissendine Feast Week Duck Race! Thanks to a little village ingenuity, Plan B saw the race move to The White Lion Inn garden, where two tin baths became our new duck racing venue!

A huge thank you to all the children who helped draw the lucky ducks – you did a fantastic job!

After three heats, our lucky winners are:
🥇 1st Prize (£30): Henry – Duck No. 228
🥈 2nd Prize (£20): Izzy – Duck No. 238
🥉 3rd Prize (£10): Grace – with “Desmond" – Duck No. 198

Thank you to everyone who bought a duck and joined in the fun. While the ducks may not have raced down the brook this year, they certainly helped create another memorable Feast Week event. Here's hoping for a flowing brook next year… but if not, we'll have the tin baths ready! 🦆💙
