Friction 004 — Foley (UK) —

After an incredible set last November we knew we had to bring him back. This time Foley is top of the bill and won’t be holding anything back…

Developing a love for house music early on, Foley was known at a young age for his Saturday night residency consisting of long vinyl sets and creative mixing with samplers, effects and acapellas. Fast forward 20 years and having DJ’d all over the UK, Foley has an ear for what works on the dancefloor and what makes a good record!

Growing up in the Manchester and Liverpool club scene of Sankey’s Red Light and Tribal Sessions parties, Bugged Out at Cream and the early Circus parties, musical influences were shaped with a mix of underground and Chicago house, both featuring heavily in Foley’s sets today.

After turning his hand to production Foley hit the jackpot when his track ‘Take Me There’ was picked up by the mighty Toolroom Records and released as part of the ‘Leaders of the New School’ album spotlighting Foley as an artist to watch out for in 2023.

Foley’s productions have been played on BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing Manchester, Kiss FM, and received DJ support from some of the industry’s biggest names, Joseph Capriati, Nic Fanciulli, Mark Knight, Riva Starr, Sam Divine, Roger Sanchez, to name a few.

Friction 004 — Ciaran Heaney —

Next Saturday label owner Ciaran Heaney will be back behind the decks for another incredible night in the Ribble Valley…

Ciaran is a dj and producer from the north west. His unique blend of house, tech/ minimal and garage brings people with all tastes to the dance floor. After starting djing in lockdown, his love for music and mixing has only grown stronger, playing in well known clubs across the north west and also venturing overseas to Portugal. Influenced by the likes of Soul Mass Transit System, Bullet Tooth, James Poole and CASSIMM, his seamless transitions and track selection has seen him recently supporting Darius Syrossian, Judge Jules and Pyralis.

Starting Friction, Ciaran looks to build a brand that supports local up and coming djs and put on a show that people are bound to fall in love with. After a successful 2025, the Friction name is gaining traction quickly and this next event is not one to be missed 🕺

Friction 004 — Matty Robbo —

On the 4th April Matty Robbo will be joining us down in the Ribble valley also making his friction debut…

Matty is a 29 year old Burnley born DJ known for his hands on, creative approach behind the decks. Favouring a 3 deck mixing style, he brings a natural flow to his sets, layering tracks with creative use of acapellas to keep things fresh, dynamic and firmly locked into the dancefloor.

He first gained wider recognition after winning the Slip Back In Time Mix Factor in 2017, a moment that helped push him further into the spotlight and onto bigger stages.

Matty previously held a residency at Retro but has since moved on. Resident DJ at The Beatherder Festival, he’s become a regular fixture, known for setting the tone and keeping crowds moving in The Fortress.

Along the way, he’s shared lineups and played alongside respected names in the scene including Roger Sanchez, Graeme Park, Darius Syrossian and more, continuing to develop his sound and presence with every booking.

Alongside DJing, he’s also the mind behind Rework, a brand focused on quality music and events that reflect his own style and influences.

Grounded, consistent and all about the music, Matty Robbo is steadily carving out his place in the UK house scene.

Friction 004 — Joe Allen —

Next up we have Joe who will also be making his friction debut with us on the 4th April down in the Ribble valley…

Hailing from the North West of England, Joe Allen is a DJ and producer steadily carving out a name in the underground house music scene. Though still early in his journey, his sound—defined by groove-heavy rhythms, punchy drum work, and a nod to classic house, breaks, and breakbeat influences—is already turning heads among tastemakers and listeners alike.

His tracks have been supported by a wide range of artists, from Jamie Jones at UNVRS to Girls Don’t Sync’s BBC R1 Essential Mix, among many others. Drawing inspiration from the raw energy of retro house as well as a wide range of influences across electronic music, Joe brings a fresh yet familiar approach to the dancefloor. With a growing presence behind the decks and a developing catalog of tracks, there’s a sense of momentum building—one that hints at exciting things to come.

Friction 004 — Oli Bennett —

Returning for his second appearance for friction we have joining us again on the 4th April

Preston based DJ Oli Bennett loves to experiment with his sounds in the booth with everything ranging from upbeat house music to niche garage classics.

Since the start of his breakthrough year in late 2023 we’ve seen him perform to big crowds in his hometown at various Clubs and Events. Sharing the stage with the likes of Robbie Doherty,Obskur, James Poole, Mason Talbot, Jelsen & Many More

A residency at local nightclub Baker Street and the launch of his brand At1Records topped off a successful start to his career in music. With various bookings & own releases planned for the future, we can’t wait to see how he elevates his sound going forward, a lot can be expected from him…

Friction 004 — Oli Simm —

First up we have making his friction debut and kicking things off for us on the 4th April

Oliver Simm is a 22 year old DJ from Burnley rapidly building a reputation across the North West house scene. His passion for music started at an early age, learning instruments and growing up around live music through his Dad, who was the lead member of a local band.

Over time his love has grown into the dance scene, leading him to develop a high energy DJ style rooted in house music. Oliver has taken his passion to dancefloors across Ibiza, Manchester, Liverpool and venues throughout the North West, supporting respected artists including Josh Butler and Teedee.
