WEEKEND GIG GUIDE 🎶
Right then. Deep breath.
There is SO much live music happening across Weymouth and Portland this Bank Holiday weekend that attempting to “just pop out for one” feels wildly optimistic.
In fact, there’s so much going on that it physically would not all fit on the poster without requiring a magnifying glass.
So if your favourite band, singer, DJ, karaoke night, acoustic duo or pub session isn’t named below, don’t panic. There is genuinely music happening absolutely everywhere.
We’ve got country nights, indie bands, acoustic sessions, DJs, karaoke, pop punk, rock covers, Sunday sessions, quiz nights, beach bar music and at least six pubs where somebody will absolutely end up singing Mr Brightside before the weekend is over.
A few of the live music picks across the weekend:
FRIDAY
Hooked on Boots • The Ultimate Eagles • Jaunty • Crash Bang Wallop! with Chris Payn • Jordan Watts • The Thirsty Ferrets • Pop Punk/Emo Night at Finns • Madeira Drive launch party • Rob Davis at Sailors Return • open mics and karaoke across town
SATURDAY
WykeFest • Milk & Two • Electronique at The Spice Ship • DuKane • The Riffs • The JukeBox Junkies • The 5 O’Clock Heroes • Knock ‘N’ Run • Sugar Rush • Wildcats 56 • Fluke Live! • Rob Davis at The Duke of Cornwall • DJs and live bands everywhere you look
SUNDAY
CHILL - The Party Band • The Other Band • Madeira Drive • The Undecided • Rip It Up • Rob Davis at Ocean Breeze Bar • Rob Davis at The Tin Cat • more acoustic sessions, pub garden music and “go on then, one more” decisions
MONDAY
Karen Melanie Kay • Jamie Pinnow's jam sesh • plus quizzes, karaoke, laid back Bank Holiday sessions and the sort of live music afternoons that somehow become evenings
From harbour pubs and beach bars to theatres, cocktail bars, workies and hidden little corners of pubs you forgot even had stages, there’s music happening all weekend long.
