Wessex Folk Festival All Welcome! After a two-year break because of Covid, the Wessex Folk Festival is back in 2022 and planning is underway.

The Annual FREE Wessex Folk Festival 2026 in Weymouth is scheduled to take place on 30th May and 31st May 2026. 2 Stages, Music, Morris Dancing, Trade Stalls, Food and more by Weymouths picturesque Harbourside and Hope Square. Because the traditional festival weekend coincides with the Jubilee Bank Holiday this year, we are returning with a slightly different format for the event. It will feature

the usual sessions and workshops throughout the weekend and music on a single stage in Hope Square on the Sunday (June 5th). Dancing will be at sites in the town on the Saturday (June 4th) and on the south side of the Harbour on the Sunday. Plans are afoot for a Ceilidh in the Square at the end of the Sunday stage performances. Check the website or Facebook to keep informed with updates.

Your presence, your ideas and your willingness to engage so constructively made the evening really encouraging. It was heartening to see such strong support for the future of the Wessex Folk Festival, Weymouth 🎶 and to hear so many thoughtful, forward-looking contributions. 💚

🌟 Volunteer Appreciation Post 🌟

Wessex Folk Festival simply wouldn’t happen without our amazing volunteers ❤️

From early morning setup 🌅, to stewarding throughout the weekend 🧭, helping visitors 😊, moving equipment 💪, answering questions 💬, solving problems on the spot 🛠️, and packing everything away afterwards 🎪 — they are at the very heart of the festival.

We didn’t manage to get photos of all of our volunteers, but we are incredibly grateful to every single one of you ❤️

A special thank you to everyone who came along this weekend ❤️

Thank you for supporting the performers 🎶, filling the town with music 🎻, dancing in the sunshine ☀️💃, cheering from the sidelines 📣, and helping to create such a friendly, welcoming atmosphere 🌊✨

And thank you for keeping the festival site tidy 🗑️🚮 and looking out for one another throughout the weekend 🤝. It really does make a difference and helps ensure Wessex Folk Festival remains a welcoming event for everyone 🌟
