The beauty of an aquathlon series is that it’s meant to be fun. Nobody is qualifying for Kona at Bowleaze on a Wednesday night.

After assessing the conditions this afternoon, the decision has been made to cancel tonight’s Bowleaze Aquathlon.

We’ve looked at the forecast, checked the sea state, and spoken with our water safety team. The kayaks would have been working hard enough looking after themselves, let alone chasing wayward swimmers heading off towards Eweleaze!

Could we have waited until the last minute? Probably.

Would the sea have suddenly decided to behave itself? Unlikely.

At BustinSkin, we’d rather make the sensible call early, give everyone plenty of notice, and live to race another day.

So tonight’s alternative training plan is simple:

🍺 Beer
🌧️ Watch the rain come down
📺 Feet up
😌 Sleep peacefully knowing nobody had to be rescued from Weymouth Bay

As the old saying goes:

“If in doubt, there is no doubt.”

See you all at the next one. The sea can **** right off. 🌊🖕🧡🖤

Don’t forget kids x we ARE BACK this Wednesday at Bowleaze Cove - 1k swim & 5k run - if you want to take part then then get here ready for registration to open at 18:00 race starts at 19:00

Keep one eye on the weather - if it sucks we will let you know by the power of Facebook that we’ve gone to the pub instead 🤣😘

The place where you can give back to the sport and become a much needed volunteer. Volunteers will receive food and drink throughout the day plus we usually finish back at a pub for a thank you meal at the end of each race - you get any spare...
