SandWorld's sand sculpture festival in Lodmoor Park, Weymouth, showcases breathtaking, larger-than-life creations by world-renowned sand sculptors and is a must-see Dorset attraction. During this year's event (5th April – 9th November 2025), see prehistoric

creatures, a full-colour Egyptian Prince, family-favourite characters, and inspirational, original artwork from some of the world's finest sand artists. SandWorld is a fun and creative all-weather day out for all ages!

Ted's fantastic sculpture and feedback from his recent visit 👉 "I had an incredible day at Sandworld Sand Sculpture Festival - Weymouth. The sculptures were incredible! I thought I would build a small sculpture inspired by the other pieces and ended up with a pretty good result (in my opinion) in just over an hour! Will definitely be back to make some more. Would definitely recommend to absolutely anybody in the area 😀"

☀ Celebrating 100 Years of Sand Sculpting in Weymouth ☀ We found this wonderful feature of Fred, recognising the magic he brought to the seaside. This short film was shared by the BBC News in 1975.

On Saturday 23rd August we’ll be marking a very special milestone - a century since Fred Darrington began creating his incredible sand sculptures on Weymouth Beach.

🏆 A day of sand, smiles & creativity at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre 🏆

Mark had a fantastic time judging and creating at the Sand Sculpture Design Competition. The talent was so impressive he couldn’t pick between Prim (5) and Leeya (8) – so he crowned them joint winners! 👏

To celebrate, Mark even split his sandcastle design in two so each could have their very own prize-winning masterpiece.

Well done to all the young creatives who took part – what an inspiring day!

Our Story

An Art Gallery with a Difference SandWorld in Weymouth, Dorset, is the UK's only all weather Sand Sculpture Festival, established in April 2011, it is a hidden treasure set within the grounds of Lodmoor Country Park. It is home to awe inspiring sculptures made entirely from Weymouth sand and water, some the size of a double decker bus. Our creations are a treat to see and showcase a rarely seen medium of art. A different theme each year and ongoing projects throughout the season ensure that each trip to our attraction is a unique one.
