🐌🍃 A little willow snail I made, carefully woven using just five sticks of willow. 🌿🐌

I’ve used two different types of willow for this piece. Fresh willow can be a little trickier to work with, as it tends to be less flexible and can snap more easily during weaving.

🦡🍃 NATIONAL BADGER DAY🍃🦡

- ft My 2 garden badgers friends, enjoying their snacks.

Today we celebrate one of Britain’s most iconic wild animals.
Badgers are an important part of our countryside, yet they continue to face persecution, wildlife crime, and other cruelty.
There is good news to celebrate! For years badgers were culled in England to control bovine tuberculosis in cattle. However, licensed culling has now ended in England, with government policy moving towards cattle controls, biosecurity, vaccination and wildlife disease surveillance.
But the fight is almost never over.
Let’s celebrate badgers, protect them from persecution and give them the safe future they should have 💜

Today is the equinox. Equal amounts of light and dark.
And for me, after a long, hot, brutal summer of carrying water buckets around and desperately trying to keep everything alive, I have very much welcomed the days getting darker earlier.

First time ever for me as I normally feel so sad when the evenings get darker.

Though the coming dark marks changes I don't like - when it's very cold and when the birds migrate. It means longer with the stars, the shadows, the creatures of the night whose eyes light up and sounds I hear (owls and foxes mainly).

And talking of animals. The deer were in the garden yesterday afternoon. They are getting bolder. I don't necessarily like it when animals get used to humans as there's many who will harm them. But these are living in our two fields and have the measure of us.
I hope they stay.

Also Derek the peacock now sits on the chair that's just outside mum's kitchen every day. I love this so much and am debating making some kind of shelter for him for wet days. Or at least putting chairs in the garage for him as that's very much a winter peacock shelter. But I think he likes the company too and we all chat to him when we're in the kitchen.

It's beautiful weather here today. I've tons to do. Part of which will be donkeys to kiss, dragonflies to film, deer to chat to and if I can manage it, a few ammonites to paint. Have a wonderful equinox.

Such a talented and patient teacher, who was incredibly supportive throughout. I learnt so much and genuinely enjoyed every minute. I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for something a little different and creative.

Now, back to spending money on the dog rather than myself… 😂💜🐾

One for the kids & big kids (myself)😅

✨️Inspired by historic 18th-century bergamot boxes. They were delicate, fragrant trinket holders crafted from the rind of bitter orange (bergamot) fruit in France and Italy. Popular for storing cosmetics, jewellery, or s***f, they were prized for imparting a natural citrus scent, I don't eat oranges as triggers my migraines so done the exact same with a lemon. 🍃

🍋You simply slice the lemon in half horizontally, hollow out the inside pulp, shape the two halves over small jars (personal advice, use something plastic not glass or itll stick), secure them with rubber bands, and let them dry in a airing cupboard for about a week until hard, they should hopefully slot together 🍋

Saved this beautiful Six-spot burnet moth from being squished!! 🦋
Usually found on flower meadows and grassland, not the middle of a road.
Most beautiful iridescent colouring and the cutest Little face, hes safe in my garden now 🥰🍃
