'At the venue, preparing for my daughter's wedding day 🇪🇸☀️' should have been my status today.

9th May - my first wedding of 2020 - purposely chosen so that I could concentrate on being 'Mother of the Bride' 👰 as well as Wedding Celebrant - what a very special honour ❤️.

But it couldn't happen due to COVID-19.

As a family, we have arranged a Google Meet and our son in law has the weekend off from his role as an ICU Doctor on the front line, and they are celebrating the 'would have been' wedding day together hoping that we can celebrate with family and friends later on in the year.

So instead of being in Spain preparing for this very special day and all of the other weddings I had booked over the coming months, I am here in Sussex supporting my couples with their postponements.

I have been advising them not to think of their weddings as postponed but just as 'on pause' like the rest of the world around us. A little more time to plan because everyone is going to need the chance to give extra special hugs, enjoy dancing the night away and celebrating with you.

Your Wedding will be special and it will celebrate your love.

And I will be with you every step of the way 💖

One of my lockdown jobs has been sorting through a literal mountain of photographs from my loft. I found this photograph of the wedding of my Italian 🇮🇹 grandmother and Irish 🇮🇪 grandfather which took place in Chelsea, London in 1938. This piece of history will be added to my genealogy research on ancestry.com.

These are unusual times and with Register Offices not offering dates for the for legal signing for the foreseeable future, remember that a Celebrant led ceremony can give you the Wedding ceremony you want in the location of your choosing ready for when the lockdown is lifted.

I am also offering virtual ceremonies so you can share your special event with family and friends online. Will you ask them to dress for the party 👗? Maybe wear a special colour theme ⚪? Come with some fizz ready 🥂🍾?
