No guest poet this month. Readers welcome, but our main focus will be a simple easy access writing workshop. Just turn up with a pen and some paper and let's see what happens. No experience necessary!

Next up as guest poet at our "Open Mic plus Guest" evening is Sandra Bond. Sandra has published poetry and also SciFi to her name. For more details of her work see http://www.sandra-bond.com/

All are welcome at our easy going meetings. Bring work of your own to read (singer songwriters also welcome) or just come to listen. 7 for 7.30 at the Senior Club in Chapel Street, Wem on Wednesday 29th July. We ask for a £5 donation to cover costs. No charge for those in full time education. The club provide tea coffee and soft drinks but bring your own alcoholic drinks if required.

WEDNESDAY 24 JUNE - 7.30. This month's Words in Wem welcomes the mid Wales poet, Pat Edwards. Please come along to the Senior Club building in Chapel Street, Wem, door open at 7.00pm. Come and just listen or bring some of your own work to read in our Open Mic session. Suggested donation is £5. Tea and coffee included. No charge for those in full time education.

WORDS IN WEM – Wednesday 27th May
7 for 7.30 at the Senior Club, Chapel Street, Wem, SY4 5ER.

We are continuing our regular last Wednesday in the month meetings, but with a slight difference this month. In stead of a guest poet we are holding a writing workshop for the first hour or so of the meeting, followed by a short open mic session. Please bring a couple of poems or short prose pieces to read in the open mic and some paper or notebook and writing implement of your. £2 recommended donation to cover room hire. Those in full time education – free of charge as always. Please also spread the word and feel free to point new or established writers along with you.

Just a quick reminder that the poet Jean Atkin is our guest poet at 7.30 this Wednesday (29th April). Open mic poetry readers and performers most welcome as indeed are "just listeners". Please remember we have removed to the Senior Club in Chapel Street, Wem. Park in the main car park and there is a alleyway linking the parking annex on Leek Street through to Chapel Street. The club will be selling hot drinks and soft drink cans. Glasses on hand for your "bring your own" alcoholic drinks if required.
