Tickets-2-U is becoming Motorsport Tickets!

As part of a recent acquisition, Tickets-2-U is integrating with Motorsport Tickets, the leading online destination for motor racing tickets and hospitality options.

If you are a customer with tickets already booked, we wanted you to be the first to know of these changes, and to reassure you that your booking is unaffected. The wider team behind Tickets-2-U remain in the business, and these changes do not affect any existing orders placed, and these orders will continue to be served.

LE MANS CLASSIC MOVED TO SUMMER 2022

Historic racing event organiser Peter Auto, has announced that the 2021 edition of the Le Mans Classic has been postponed. The event is expected to take place fro June 30th - July 3rd 2022.

The decision has been made in light of the current public health guidelines in France which would prevent it from hosting the event with a large crowd and all its usual fan-facing activities. By pushing the event back a year Peter Auto hopes to put on a spectacular show in 2022.

Peter Auto has also confirmed that it will hold the Le Mans Classic on two consecutive years for the first time as a result of this change, with a 2023 event now scheduled too. This allows Peter Auto to hold the Le Mans Classic on the centenary year for the Le Mans 24 Hours and add to the celebrations and festivities the ACO is planning for the 24 Hours proper in June 2023.

The ACO (Automobile Club de l’Ouest) announced yesterday that the 2021 running of the Le Mans 24 Hours has been postponed for the second year running, from its traditional mid-June date to August 21st – 22nd.

The ACO has said that by moving the race to later in the year, it hopes to be able to run the race with fans trackside. This is primarily the reason for the ACO making this decision. Further information regarding capacity for the new dates will be provided by the ACO in April.

Anyone who has a booking with Tickets-2-U for the 2021 Le Mans 24 Hours will be contacted individually to discuss options. There is no need to contact us.

LE MANS 2021 ON SALE

With the 2020 Le Mans 24 Hours in the rear-view mirror, Tickets-2-U is fully focused on getting fans to the 89th edition on June 12th - 13th next year.

As usual, Tickets-2-U (an official ticketing agent of the Le Mans 24 Hours) is selling entrance tickets, grandstand seats, camping spaces and hospitality packages for the race, and demand is high.

Already certain campsites are selling out, with spaces in some of the most popular areas already sold out. So act fast if you wish to be on-site next year.

As a reminder, all coronavirus cancelled bookings are transferable or refundable, so you can book with us with confidence.

The Le Mans 24 Hours experience lasts a whole week beginning with Le Mans scrutineering on Sunday/Monday and Tuesday, followed by Le Mans practice on Wednesday and qualifying on Thursday. 2020 LE MANS 24 HOURS TO BE HELD BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

The Automobile Club de l’Ouest and the Sarthe Prefecture have revealed that the 2020 running of the Le Mans 24 Hours will be held without spectators in September (19th-20th).

Prior to today’s announcement multiple solutions had been explored to allow a capped number of fans to attend the race during the current COVID-19 situation, including a zone system which would have split the fans track-side into 10 areas. But after lengthy discussions with the public health and safety authorities, the ACO and the Sarthe Prefecture decided that the best option was to run the event without fans.

“The 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans will go down in the annals of history as, sadly, the world’s greatest endurance race will be run this year with no spectators trackside,” Pierre Fillon, president of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest commented.

“Over the last few weeks, we have looked at many ways in which we could hold our event in September with fans present, albeit in limited numbers. However, given the constraints involved in organising a festival-scale event over several days in the current situation, we have opted with the local government authorities to hold the race behind closed doors. There were still too many question marks regarding health and safety.

“We know that our fans will be as disappointed as we are by this decision but, with public health in the balance, it really wasn’t a difficult call to make. You don’t compromise where safety is concerned.

“Fans will not miss out altogether. They may not be at Le Mans, but our media teams and service providers will bring Le Mans to them! We are sure that we can count on everyone’s support and understanding at this time.”

TICKETS-2-U CONTINUES TO SELL LE MANS 2020 TICKETS

Following the news yesterday from the ACO that the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2020 will run with fans, with a ‘village’ system to ensure the safety of the fans that make the trip, Tickets-2-U continues to sell tickets to the race.

Tickets-2-U – an official agency for the Le Mans 24 Hours - and its parent company Travel Destinations, still have (limited) availability for fans wishing to make the trip and either camp on circuit or stay off-site for the duration of the event.

Tickets-2-U can also still offer grandstand seats and official hospitality options for the race.

Customers who have booked with Tickets-2-U already and has a reservation affected by the newly-announced ‘Village’ system – which will see spectator areas divided into 10 zones of 5,000 fans – will be contacted in the coming days if any alterations need to be made to their booking.
