Sweet peas are one of my most loved flowers to grow for weddings in the walled garden because of their incredible fragrance, colour and silky frills! and this year I fell head over heels with 4 or 5 varieties that I haven't grown before, which are long stemmed, fragrant and perfect colours for a wedding. I have resisted cutting some of the varieties, which is so hard! because I will be collecting the seeds from them at the end of the summer.
If you are getting married next year and want to grow your own sweet pea flowers in your garden to add to your bouquets and arrangements then drop me a message and I will let you know what varieties I have and reserve you some seeds.

I am also growing some much loved varieties that you can grow in your garden, they're not just for weddings.

Have you got any favourite varieties that you love the most?

A quick hello from me @ FloraLana

Since re-training as a florist in 2016 and starting cut flower growing in 2021 in Welshpool, Mid Wales, who could have imagined it would evolve into something that I would love so much and be so incredible.
Sharing my love of locally grown and chemical free flowers with you all!.

Creating with and growing cut flowers for romantic weddings and local bouquets and flowers

Did you know I also do demonstrations and workshops to promote British flowers and sustainable floral mechanics 'this includes event and church flowers. If you are in Mid Wales or Shropshire then I would be happy to answer any of your questions.

Couch grass is the bain of my life at my flower farm and I really hope it isn't yours. If you struggle with this in your garden, the only non-chemical way to fight it is by pulling out as much as you can without losing the plot 😉
It runs deep and creeps horizontally. The more you pull, the more it grows.

The only rainbow 🌈 is that you are rewarded with magnificent flowers all summer long.

For me, all the hard work' means that my wedding couples can enjoy incredible, seasonal and chemical free flowers for their big day.

Who else feels like this?

Its a busy time of year for me me as a wedding florist and grower and time is so limited to just enjoy the flowers. Taking a moment and enjoying them is how I manage my overwhelm.
How about you?!

This feels like dajavo because its not the first time I have lost some of my dahlias because they got frost damage and went to mush. A few years ago I stored around 100 dahlia tubers in my greenhouse overwinter naively thinking they would survive -11 weather. Then the slugs ate them last year and then this year I left them in the ground and only 1/3rd survived.

They are real divas and I would not grow them if everyone didnt love them. There you go I said it!

Even though my baby plants are now desperate to be planted in the ground i have decided to delay it because we have a mini heatwave wave coming here in Mid Wales over the weekend and it will be to hot for them; likely scorching their leaves

Enjoy the sunshine whatever your doing🌞
