Did you know we’re not meant to cut scones with a knife but to pull them apart. Look at that wonderful halfway line. How clever is that?
Etiquette says you break the scone into pieces and dot with cream and jam as you go!
Whatever makes you happy is what I say. Although I agree with the pulling rather than cutting. It keeps the scones airy. If you cut you’re squashing them.

A Christmas Message from Ruth’s Finest.

Like many others, this year has brought its fair share of challenges for me, and I haven’t been as active in my little baking business as normal.

Like any good dough, though, sometimes we all need a little time to rest before we rise again, and so I’ll be back in the New Year, rolling out some much‑loved favourites along with a few fresh bakes I’m crafting especially for Valentine’s Day.

To everyone who has supported me, whether by ordering, sharing, cheering me on, or simply being patient, thank you, truly. Your kindness has meant more than you know.
