A long time ago, in a faraway land, there was a village that had a terrible problem—a huge, scary dragon lived nearby!
The dragon was fierce and dangerous. It scared all the people and even hurt their animals. The villagers were frightened and didn’t know what to do.
To keep the dragon calm, the villagers gave it food every day. But soon, they ran out of animals and had nothing left to offer.
The dragon became angry again. The king of the village didn’t know what to do—until one day, a brave knight named George came riding into the village on his white horse.
“Why is everyone so sad?” George asked.
The villagers told him all about the dragon and how scared they were. Then, George said, “I will help you!”
He put on his shining armour, picked up his sword and shield, and rode off to find the dragon.
The dragon roared and blew fire, but George didn’t run away. He was very brave. He fought the dragon with all his strength. Finally, with one powerful move, George defeated the dragon and saved the village!
Everyone cheered, and the king thanked George for his courage. From that day on, the village was safe and peaceful again.
And that’s why we remember St George as a hero—because he was brave, kind, and stood up for what was right.
