Having travelled extensively through Asia devouring Far Eastern culture, language and food, Rupert realised a particular love for and interest in the vast variations of foreign cuisine. Attaining a position at the Laguna, 5* Dusit hotel in Thailand, he swiftly rose to became the youngest ex-pat sous chef in the country and continued rising through this luxury hotel chain to join the Rayawadee where he worked for a further three years. Rupert’s reputation quickly spread amongst the dignitaries and it wasn’t long before he later gained the prestigious position as Chef for the Thai Royal Family when they were out of palace. Having realised his natural ability to create exceptional dishes and already being a stickler for detail, he felt the need to put his talents and experiences to the best possible use and returned to the UK. Since launching RD Catering in 2000, his client list reads like the who’s who of culinary masters and includes Jean Christophe-Novelli, Steve Saunders and Ainsley Harriott – having these peers favour his talent over others is simply a testament to his continued success
