Our Parish Centre is situated opposite the church and is available for use by the community.

There are prizes for Best Team Name, Best Fancy Dress and Best Young Detective as well as some fantastic prizes for those taking part in the hunt.

If treasure hunts are not your thing, please feel free to join us at the parish centre for our BBQ and licensed bar from 4.30pm. Every penny raised from the event will go towards repairing the fallen churchyard wall.

If anyone is looking for something a little different for their children during the summer holidays, I'd really recommend Meladrama's Screen Acting & Confidence Summer School in Warrington.
My child has absolutely loved Meladrama. It's such a welcoming, supportive environment and has done wonders for their confidence, communication and friendships.
It's not just for children who want to be actors. It's perfect for any young person who enjoys being creative, wants to build confidence, make new friends or simply have a brilliant week during the summer holidays.

What happens at the Parish Centre?

In addition to hiring out the hall, we also use it as the base for some of our church events at St Wilfrid's. Here is our next event at the Parish Centre - The Grappenhall Treasure Hunt and BBQ.

You only need to purchase a ticket if you want to enter the hunt. Otherwise, pop down and enjoy the atmosphere at the Parish Centre with our BBQ and licensed bar.

Don't miss your chance to enter the Great Grappenhall Bake Off 2026! This year's theme is international. Get your aprons on because this year entries need to be submitted on Friday morning. This is to give us a chance to make a bigger display of all of our entries on Walking Day. Winners will be displayed and can collect their prizes on Saturday from St Wilfrid's Summer Fair.

To help us keep St Wilfrid's Parish Centre clean, welcoming and affordable for everyone, all new party bookings will now require a refundable deposit.

The deposit will be returned after the event once the hall has been checked and everything is left as agreed.

This small change helps us protect our community facility and keep hire costs as low as possible for all our users.

The Great Grappenhall Bake Off is back for the World Cup year! This year we want to see your international inspired bakes and there is a difference.

The bake off deadline is the FRIDAY before walking day so that we can have more time to judge and take pictures which will then be displayed at walking day. We want to make sure that all of our bakers get the recognition they deserve by sharing pictures of their bakes before they get cut up for judging.

As usual, the entries will be for sale in the cafe on walking day.

Please bring all entries to St Wilfrid's Parish Centre by 11am on Friday 19th June.

We can't wait to see what you create! 🍰🧁

Grappenhall Treasure Hunt and BBQ - Saturday 11th July, starting from 2.30pm.

St Wilfrid's will be holding a community Treasure Hunt starting at the parish centre and taking a circular route around Grappenhall. There will be clues along the route which you need to solve in order to solve the final puzzle back at the parish centre and be entered into the draw to win a prize. We will also have a bbq and licensed bar ready for when you return.

All of the proceeds will go towards rebuilding the falling churchyard wall. In addition to solving the hunt, there will also be prizes for best team name, best team photo and best fancy dress.
