Hazel Foxon Flowers

Hazel Foxon Flowers Season-led event flowers and flower workshops, inspired by English gardens, old paintings and the natural landscape Please see website for details. Thank you!

Seasonal floral design inspired by English gardens, old paintings and the natural landscape. I also run workshops at my pop up Flower School at Place House Hall, Ware. My work is led by the best locally and British-grown flowers and the unique personality of each wonderfully wonky stem. Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter or somewhere in between, I bring the outside in, curating naturalistic, garden-gathered designs for your event or workshop, full of texture, movement and scent.

Snowdrops seem so scarce and precious in the garden (well my garden anyway) it seems wrong to snip them when we've waited so long for them to appear. So such a treat to be given free rein in a place where they are so plentiful and to have ringfenced time away from the mundane to-do list to just be creative and learn. Huge thanks to and the team for their generosity in plying us with a wealth of gorgeous galanthus to play with. And of course to the wonderful for her patience and inspiration ๐ŸŒฟ Now, sadly, time to stop daydreaming about gardens in Scotland and get back to the Hertfordshire humdrum....

Surrounded by so many beautiful snowdrops this Galentine's (for Galanthus obvs ๐Ÿ˜‚) weekend. And some great gals too - the women in the gardening and flowery world are just the nicest bunch. Anyway, this is what's in season in mid-February, not roses. So snowdrops it is (and if you're lucky hellebores too), and who could want for anything more? There are lots of places to see them including if you live near me, but the national snowdrop collection is and it's well worth the trek to beautiful St Andrews to see all 350 varieties in person ๐ŸŒฟ

And not forgetting honorary Galanthus gal John ๐Ÿ˜˜

A quick teaser from my phone camera from the wonderful snowdrop photography workshop with in Fife. I'm on the train back down south, flicking through the pics on my "big camera" and so grateful to Eva for her patience and advice, I didn't even know what half the buttons on my camera did ๐Ÿคฆ Such a fun weekend with lovely people and SO many snowdrops. In fact there are quite a lot of Cambo Extra Tall snowdrops coming home with me on the train to my own little garden to remind me of a special time in a very special place with lovely new friends๐ŸŒฟ

Hard to do it justice on camera but our early dogwalk through the field this morning was like being immersed in the most ethereal, delicate art installation. So beautiful it hurt ๐Ÿค

First snowdrop in the garden. Trying to do some prep for my photography workshop with next month, I definitely need her help! But have already figured out that I'll need something to kneel/lie on, and lots and lots of layers ๐Ÿฅถ

Hogmanay and the last days of the tree ๐ŸŽ„ Usually I'd be itching to take it down tomorrow but this year we've been at home for Christmas and we've treated ourselves to a real tree so I'll be making the most of it and enjoying the twinkly lights for as many days as I can get away with. I've had the Christmas lurgy (again! I know, next year I think I'll just bu**er off to Marrakech...) and a houseful of family so not had much time to reflect on 2024 yet but huge thanks to everyone who trusted me to do flowers for or with them, I've had so many great experiences and met lots of lovely people this year and looking forward to more of the same in 2025 ๐Ÿคž Have fun tonight whatever you are doing xx

Last one and it's a whopper - 2ft in diameter. Each wreath takes me 2-3 hours to make, they're fiddly and intricate but I love doing it, gathering natural, seasonal, local ingredients that reflect what's happening outside around us and bringing them together in bespoke designs that take into account the colour of your front door, how exposed it is and of course your ribbon preferences.

The dark chocolate velvet "Mole Heap" has been a hit this year but today's orangey hips and bracken called for "Red Squirrel" (both from )
