💜 Rest in Peace, Kelly Way 💜

It is with overwhelming sadness that we share the passing of Kelly Way on Saturday, 1st November 2025. Kelly fought her illness with unimaginable courage, grace, and dignity. She was a beacon of love and light, and her warmth touched every soul she encountered.

Kelly and her beloved husband, Jason, shared a love story that will forever inspire us. On Friday, 22nd November 2024, they stood together in Oxfordshire, hand in hand, promising forever in a ceremony filled with joy, hope, and tears of happiness. That day was a testament to their devotion—a memory that will never fade.

Although her time was far too short, Kelly’s story speaks volumes about strength, love, and the importance of cherishing every single moment. Her courage and grace have touched our hearts deeply.

Our hearts ache for Jason, the Griffiths family, and the Way family as they navigate this unimaginable loss. Please know that you are surrounded by love and prayers during this time of grief.

Big news and a new adventure!

I’ve been a little quiet on here for a while, and with good reason.

As you know, alongside creating bespoke wedding cakes, I also teach at the wonderful , where I’ve been a tutor for the past seven years.

I’m so excited to finally share that, following some changes within our team, I’ll be taking over as the new owner of from this Christmas! 🎉

I feel so lucky to be continuing the amazing legacy that Lucy has built, and deeply grateful for her trust, mentorship, and for creating something truly special. Lucy’s move to the USA marks an exciting new chapter for her, and while she may not be a daily face at The Cake College, she’ll always be part of its very fabric. 💛

Teaching at The Cake College has been a huge part of my life since I first attended a class as a total newbie back in 2016. I’ve grown, been challenged, laughed (a lot!) and made friends for life.

I couldn’t do any of it without our wonderful team. If you’ve been to a class, you’ll know that Steph is the glue that holds everything together! I’m so delighted she’ll be with me as we plan for the future.

The Cake College has always been a lovely, creative, and welcoming space, filled with laughter and the joy that comes from watching our students grow in confidence. My goal is to keep its heart exactly as it is, while bringing fresh ideas and new classes in 2026 and beyond.

As for my wedding cake designs, I’ll be taking a small step back to focus on The Cake College. I’ll still take on a few special commissions in 2026 - I can’t let my creative side miss out completely! If you have something in mind, please do get in touch.

I had been looking forward to creating this beauty for K&B. I love handpainting cakes as much as I love sugar flowers. So this was a dream!

Many months of planning and versions of illustrations went into getting this cake exactly right.

I love how it looks in the beautiful September light at

Three tiers of traditional 3 month aged boozy fruitcake, covered with marzipan and sugarpaste. Hand painted with edible ‘oil’ paints which I mixed to match an exact colour swatch of the bridesmaids dresses. Finished with handmade sugar roses.

What an absolutely inspirational group of women I got to spend the week with.

At we are all about joy, and confidence building. The cake almost comes second.

Lots of laughs, smiles, wow moments, a few tears and so much pride in the three amazing bakes they all took home.

A week well spent!
