Following the success of SeenUnseen and Pitch Me I’m Dreaming, The Hatch presents its third public art call: Everyone Deserves Art.

This exhibition was born from a powerful moment at our last show. A visitor fell in love with a piece that had already sold. Speaking unknowingly to the artist herself, she shared how the price had been just beyond her reach—and now regretted never having the chance to own it. Moved by this encounter, the artist created a small work as a gift, accompanied by a card with three simple words: "Everyone Deserves Art".

January can be tough. Budgets are tight, but our need for beauty, connection, and meaning never fades. This show asks: What if great art were truly accessible to everyone?

💡 THE BRIEF
Create work that embodies the idea that art should be within reach — physically and financially.

🖼️ Every piece must be priced at £250 or under.

All mediums welcome — painting, sculpture, photography, print, digital, textile, mixed media & more.

Free to enter. Emerging and established artists welcome.

Foxes, Foxes, all day long!

Spotlight Friday goes to this wonderful piece by artist, Keeley Robinson Art

'Rescue Me'

This piece explores the human need for care, safety, and connection. Two foxes, held tenderly in a hooded figure's arms, symbolize vulnerability and the reciprocity of rescue - how animals and humans heal one another.

Keeley has a wonderful way with animals, I feel like I can reach out and stroke them.

Part of the Pitch Me: I'm Dreaming Exhibition, you have until the 1st November to this work and many others.

The Hatch is open today until 4.30pm and on Saturday. Hope to see you!

For all those 'Wild' swimmers in your life, I've the perfect Christmas gift/stocking filler.

'Teas n Seas' by artist, Gail Eglin has produced these wonderful canvas tote bags and cards.

So, even though the main picture sold on our preview night you can still take away these wonderful items by the artist.

Great visit to The Williamson Art Gallery today. Such a diverse collection of styles. Lovely to see some of the artists currently exhibiting in The Hatch here also. Well done guys your work looks great!

Also had a mooch around all the other rooms. I always love the exhibits.

If you're not ready to scale up to a larger picture, starting off with a print is a great way to begin collecting. It's also a great option for a gift.

We had originally sold out our Christmas Wreath Making on Nov 27th, however we have 2 tickets up for grabs. I know a lot of people wanted this date, so please get in touch. First come first served.....
