🍽️ A FRESH START FOR HOSPITALITY AT WALLASEY MASONIC HALL

A good Festive Board should be one of the highlights of a Masonic evening.
Good food. Good wine. Good company.

So one of the biggest changes for the new season is our new hospitality partnership with Sophie and Monty from The Clubhouse.

Together, we’re setting out to raise the standard of dining and hospitality throughout the Hall.

There’s a completely refreshed menu, an improved drinks selection and a proper range of wines available directly from the Hall, perfectly served every time.

Tea and coffee are now included with our Masonic dining, and we’re also simplifying the way Secretaries submit dining numbers and meal requirements.

The aim is that when members arrive for their meeting, the hospitality has already been taken care of.
Less hassle. Better service. Better food and drink. And, hopefully, an even better Festive Board.

Please join us in giving Sophie and Monty a very warm Wallasey welcome as the new season gets underway.

🍻 MORE THAN JUST SOMEWHERE TO BUY A DRINK…

Another area receiving plenty of attention has been the bar and lounge area.

We’ve refurbished the space, introduced new furniture, improved the back-bar presentation and expanded the social area into the former Boardroom. Why?

Because the bar should be part of the evening — not simply somewhere you queue between the meeting and dinner.

We want it to be somewhere members actually enjoy spending time. Somewhere to meet before Lodge. Somewhere to gather after the Festive Board.
Somewhere to enjoy a pint, a glass of wine or a whisky while putting the world to rights with your Brethren.

Alongside the physical changes, we’re also expanding the range of drinks available at the Hall, including a much broader selection of wines.

It’s another fairly simple part of a much bigger ambition:
better surroundings, better hospitality and more reasons to stay and enjoy each other’s company.

🥃 INTRODUCING THE NEW COMPOSITE LOUNGE

One of the things we particularly wanted to improve at the Hall was what happens before and after the meeting.

Freemasonry isn’t only about what happens inside the Lodge Room or around the Festive Board. It’s also about friendship.

A drink beforehand. A conversation afterwards. Catching up with someone you haven’t seen for a while. Staying for another half hour rather than heading straight for the door.

So we’ve created the new Composite Lounge.

Comfortable Chesterfields, traditional furniture, softer lighting and a relaxed atmosphere give members somewhere they can genuinely sit and enjoy the Hall.

It’s deliberately rather different from a function room or dining suite, this is somewhere to settle into.

Our hope is that it becomes one of those parts of the Hall where some of the best Masonic conversations happen — usually long after the formal proceedings have finished.

Meet. Dine. Relax. Stay a while.

We think this is going to become a firm favourite.

🏛️ WE’RE PART OF WIRRAL HERITAGE OPEN DAYS 2026!

We’re delighted that Wallasey Masonic Hall will once again be opening its doors to the public as part of this year’s Wirral Heritage Open Days.

Across Wirral there are an incredible 86 FREE events taking place between 11th–20th September, celebrating the buildings, places and stories that make our part of the world so special.

And on Sunday 20th September, it’s our turn!

Built in 1911, Manor Road has been home to generations of Wallasey Freemasons for well over a century. For one afternoon, we’ll be throwing the doors open and inviting everyone to come inside and have a proper look around.

Whether you’re a Mason who hasn't visited Wallasey before, someone who has driven past the building hundreds of times and wondered “what actually goes on in there?”, or you simply love local history and historic buildings, come and see us!

Bring your family, bring your friends and help us show off this wonderful old Hall to the wider community.

And with 86 free heritage events across Wirral, why not make a day of it and visit a few? 🏛️

✨ NEW SEASON — NEW LOOK FOR THE CORINTHIAN SUITE

What better place to begin our series of improvements than one of the great rooms of Wallasey Masonic Hall?

Over countless Masonic seasons, the Corinthian Suite has hosted Festive Boards, Ladies’ Nights, banquets, celebrations and friendships that have lasted lifetimes. This summer we felt it deserved some attention.

The room has been redecorated and refreshed, with new window treatments, voiles and blackout blinds helping us make much more of its wonderful proportions and architectural detail.

The aim wasn’t to turn an historic Masonic dining room into something modern, quite the opposite.

We wanted the Corinthian Suite to feel magnificent again.

It remains one of the principal homes of Masonic dining at Wallasey — but it will also increasingly welcome weddings, celebrations, dinners and special events from the wider community.

Because keeping a building like ours thriving means making sure it is enjoyed. We hope you like what we’ve done.

And even better — we hope you enjoy plenty of good evenings in here during the coming season. 🥂

🥂 AND WE’RE BACK! 🔵⚪️
Last night we officially kicked off the 2026/27 Masonic season at Wallasey Masonic Hall — and what a great way to start it.

It was the first Festive Board for our new hospitality team, and a chance to see many of the changes we’ve been working on over the summer actually doing what they were intended to do.

🍽️ A cracking Festive Board
🍺 A superb new range of beers, wines & spirits
🥂 Great service from our new hospitality team
🛋️ Brethren, partners and friends relaxing together in the newly refurbished bar
❤️ And more than £250 raised for the TLC Masonic charity

Most importantly, the Hall was busy, sociable and full of life.

That’s exactly what we want Manor Road to be — not simply somewhere we come for our meetings, but somewhere Masons, families and friends genuinely enjoy spending time together.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported the evening and helped make the first one such a success — and congratulations to our new hospitality team on getting their first Festive Board under their belts! 👏

🏛️ CARING FOR OUR HALL – BEHIND THE SCENES

A building like Wallasey Masonic Hall doesn’t look after itself!

While many of the improvements we’ve been sharing recently have been very visible, there’s also a considerable amount of work that goes on behind the scenes to care for a building that’s been serving local Freemasonry since 1911.

A recent inspection identified some maintenance work that would be sensible to tackle while the Hall was relatively quiet.

With the new Masonic season almost upon us, we had a fairly narrow window to get it completed without interfering with meetings, dining or functions — and with a building of this age, it’s important that work is carried out by people who understand older properties and know how to look after them properly.

Fortunately, we have just such a person amongst our own membership.

WBro. Michael Ross of North West Construction was quick to help, arranging the work around our timetable and getting everything underway with the minimum of fuss.

It’s probably not the sort of improvement most visitors will ever notice — and that’s rather the point!

Maintaining Manor Road is an ongoing job, but it’s an important one. We’re merely the custodians of this wonderful building for a period of its history, and we want to hand it on to future generations in better condition than we found it.

A big thank you to Mike for helping us do just that. 👏

🏛️ A NEW SEASON AT WALLASEY MASONIC HALL

The Hall may have seemed quiet over the summer… but behind the doors it has been anything but!

Since early May, a great deal of work has been taking place as we prepare Wallasey Masonic Hall for its next chapter.

We’ve refurbished rooms, created completely new spaces, improved our Temples, upgraded our hospitality, made the building smarter and more energy- efficient — and taken a fresh look at how the Hall can better serve the Masons who meet here.

Some changes are immediately obvious, others you probably won’t notice at all — but they’ll help protect the Hall and its finances for the future.

Our aim is simple:
Preserve what makes Wallasey Masonic Hall special — whilst improving what makes it work.

The new Masonic season officially begins on 1st September, we’re looking forward to welcoming everyone back. 🍷
