THE GOOSE HAS ESCAPED.

Today we've taken The Silly Goose out onto the precinct outside Wakefield Cathedral, letting kids, grown-ups and anyone brave enough have a go at axe throwing and co****le.

But days like today are about a lot more than chucking axes at things.

They're about Wakefield. ❤️

Getting people into the city centre. Families stopping and having a go. Local businesses getting involved. People chatting to people they probably wouldn't normally meet.

There's a proper sense of community in Wakefield when everyone gets behind something, and we genuinely love being a little part of it.

Massive thanks to Wakefield BID for putting the event on, and to everyone who's stopped by the Goose stall, had a throw, had a laugh or just come over for a chat.

This is what a city centre should feel like. ❤️

And if you've not found us yet… we're here causing trouble.

Well, this wasn't on today's bingo card...

Our neighbours Kyro have just rescued this little fella.

It's a cute bat.
If he mutates into a vampire overnight though, that's very on brand for them.

Meanwhile, Batman has officially retired from The Silly Goose after discovering there are actual bats next door.

Just another perfectly normal day in The Ridings.
Nice one Kyro for looking after the little guy or gal.

Nominations are now open for the Wakefield BID Awards 2026 and we’d absolutely love to see The Silly Goose get a few names in the hat.

It’s been a pretty crazy start for our new venue.

Not many businesses can say they got evicted before they’d even opened their doors. 😂

But we opened anyway.

Since then we’ve thrown a ridiculous number of axes, fired plenty of darts, met thousands of you and somehow built this slightly bonkers place into something we’re incredibly proud of.

So we're going to be cheeky and ask…
