Hey Salseros hope you’ve all had a lovely summer break of festivals, holidays and enjoying the beautiful weather we have all been having in the UK this year. 😊
I’ve enjoyed a break away or three and it’s been great to see some of you this summer and to be able to share my space with you.
I just wanted to pop on here to let you all know what’s on the agenda for the rest of this year.
We are super excited obviously for our 10th year anniversary celebration in October and hope to celebrate with everyone who has been part of our ten year journey and share our space with our Salsa family and friends.
As you may or not know we are bringing TWO of our favourite ON2 teachers, two teachers myself personally has learnt so much from at their legendary bootcamps in Bournemouth Davina with her elegant effortless style and grace on the Dancefloor and Marchant who I admire so much whose incredible passion for the dance is infectious.
We are so lucky first of all to be able to find them available and we were delighted to find out that they would be willing to travel all the way up north to be with us.🥹
We are overwhelmed with the bookings thus far and are currently holding off on followers places, we have 50 confirmed on the workshop but still need more leaders, (I know how the fellas like to keep us gals waiting 🤭). Come on leaders lol
This day is set to be a day of surprises, learning, socialising and of course dancing.
Our workshop currently for that day only has places for leaders but the sooner the leaders come forward and book on we can perhaps open the workshop again to followers who are currently waiting to book on. 😉
To summarise the day in October
We will start the day with two more incredible teachers at 10am John and Emma with some ON2 footwork and we are also open to requests for your learning too.
At 11am it’ll be “ Yoga for dancers “ with me.
When I’m not on the Dancefloor my day job is a Yoga Alliance teacher, teaching across Yorkshire at Wellness events, Retreats, NHS, GP surgeries, care in the community, corporate events as well as my regular Yoga studio classes in Alverthorpe.
There will be some warm up techniques and some deep stretches to prepare you for the main workshop event, (all Yoga mats are provided)
At Midday we start the workshop which will be split into two half’s
12-1.30pm workshop
15 minute tea/coffee break
1.45-3.15pm workshop
Light Refreshments for workshop attendees
Plus Tea/Coffee
Doors open for afternoon social dancing event, if you would like to just attend afternoon social and evening party it’s the HALF pass price of £20, remember your full pass price includes all this.
5.30pm Close till evening
Doors open for evening event at 7.45pm
Entrance to evening event for class and EVENING social is £15, with a party pass.
So if you couldn’t manage to book the workshop then join them for open to all class.
8-9pm ON2 Class with Marchant and Davina and then social dancing with our DJ for the evening Tony Crossbody.
Plus hoping for a performance too for this evening.😍
You can book the October event NOW Salseros!!, places are running out as I said for the workshop. (Currently just for leaders)
But before that big day we will be holding our Pre-Party at the end of September with Mauricio Reyes when we are hoping to ask him if he will teach ON2 for us in preparation for our October event, we put out a poll?!, please have your say on what you’d like to learn from Mauricio.
So if you are a ON1 dancer that wants to dip your toes into the ON2 divine Mambo style then this is the perfect opportunity to learn from an awesome teacher or indeed if you’d like a refresh in ON2 and we’re thinking about booking our BIG celebration but need a little more tuition then this is a fab opportunity too, so vote ON2.

In November it’s our ACTUAL to the day celebration of 10 years bringing events to Wakefield and I’m bringing my favourite fellow promoter and DJ Lubi to celebrate the day, a day we called “ Rumberos “, a day we held also with other promoters (can’t afford to bring them all 😆).

Our Christmas party will be the close to 2025 celebrations and I couldn’t ask for anyone more awesome than DJ Rupert Boyle, we are incredibly lucky to be able to bring Rupert back up north ( much sort after DJ)
