Well Placed is expanding to Brentford, West London! 📢

Brentford is set to have more affordable art studios available this autumn, developed through a partnership between The Art House and Creative Mile, Brentford Art Trail

A range of studio spaces, along with spaces for exhibitions, art classes and events, will be available to rent from September at 27 Great West Road, formerly known as the Sega Building.

Lucy Juniper, Co Executive Director of The Art House, shares “We are very excited about this opportunity, The Art House was established 30 years ago with an aim to make artists spaces accessible and welcoming to everyone, and this project is a huge step for us to
realise that aim. We believe in the transformative power of art and creativity at the heart of the community, we wanted to work with a locally based arts organisation who has connections within the area and in particular with local creatives. That’s why we are so excited to be partnering with Creative Mile on this project.”

The space will be open during the Creative Mile, Brentford Art Trail weekend for tours of the building at 12PM, 1PM, 2PM and 3PM Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September.

Anyone interested in having a studio space or running classes or sessions should join the Creative Mile mailing list via their website to be the first to know when more information is available.

The Art House is delighted to welcome Hospital Rooms to Yorkshire, with a celebratory exhibition inviting us to consider how contemporary art can reshape experiences of care within some of the most complex mental health settings in the UK.

Hospital Rooms is an arts and mental health charity that commissions permanent artworks in mental health wards, working with leading contemporary artists and NHS trusts to transform clinical environments. This exhibition celebrates their recent Yorkshire project that brought 15 artist commissions into forensic wards and Psychiatric Intensive Care Units at Fieldhead Hospital in Wakefield, and Kendray Hospital in Barnsley.

We’re looking for participants that would like to be involved in a new art installation opening for Light Up Wakefield 2026! 🌟

Artist Seiko Kinosh*ta is inviting members of Wakefield-based immigrant, refugee and seeking sanctuary communities to share their stories, images, and sounds of home for a new large scale artwork.

📩 To register your interest, email us at [email protected] or drop-in to our informal chat with Seiko at The Art House on 27 August from 15:00-16:40.
