Today was the third Every Child Deserves A Seat At The Show day where I managed to add approximately 250 more kids from 5 different schools to the list that have gotten to see a live magic show before they hit double figures. I visited Friends of Birdsedge First School, Highburton C.E. First Academy, Lepton CE Primary Academy, Sharlston Community School and Hoyland Springwood Primary School. They were all superb schools with fantastic kids and very welcoming staff.

I’ll be doing it all again in the winter term, keep an eye on the page to bag a spot for your school then.

PS. Are you even a kids entertainer if you don’t grin and double thumbs up for your sign in sticker?

It’s that time again, My Every Child Deserves A Seat At The Show day is back.

Every time I do this I get so many messages and updates, I need to take literally the first school that says "I definitely want that slot" if you message in real time I will tell you in real time what works but if someone else confirms they want that slot before I get a reply, I WILL HAVE TO TAKE THE FIRST CONFIRMATION

Each term I donate 1 day to try and make sure as many children as possible get to see a live magic show before they reach double figures.

The date for this term, Summer Term 2025 will be Wednesday 4th June. the time slots available are below and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. If you'd like to reserve a slot for your school, check the "How It Works" info below & message me with details.

This has come about off the back of me realising that some schools can't afford to get a magician to come in as a reward for their students and in many areas, Mario the Maker Magicianr an entertainer to come to their children's parties. I saw the incredible Mario the Maker Magician do a talk where he said "Every child deserves a seat at the theatre" and he's 100% right so hopefully through this initiative I can help make that happen.

How It Works
On each of the days I do this I want to be able to get around as many schools as possible so I have specifically tailored a 30 minute show where I can arrive, walk in with all the kit I need in one go, perform the show then get back out again and off to the next school ASAP. This unfortunately means all the schools taking part need to be within the West Yorkshire area (I learned last time that all areas of West Yorkshire aren’t 30 mins or less from each other so I may need to take that into account with proximity to already allocated slots). I'll only be able to bring 1 speaker in with me so I can cater for audiences of up to about 60 at a time. The times I think I can fit are below, assuming I'll have a max of 30 mins commute between schools. I do this every term as a completely free day, if you take a slot I’d be grateful if you could share the fun your children had by posting something on any of my social media pages or Google business page as I love to see the comments. If your school has had me in before, I’m afraid I have to prioritise other schools that haven’t had the chance to take advantage of this yet.

PS. This is a great but very busy day so anything that helps logistically (ie. picking a slot either side of a nearby school or starting earlier than 09:00 or finishing later than 15:30) would be a massive help.

We had an awesome day at Newcastle Food Festival today. Come and join us on the family stage tomorrow for 6 completely different kids & family magic, comedy and circus shows featuring myself, Matthew J Magic & Variety Arts and the incredible Joel Dickinson Magic Trix. We’ll also have free circus skills workshops in between all the shows and the amazing Mista twister. Will be making you some incredible balloons, again, absolutely free of charge 😃

It’s day 1 of the Newcastle Food Festival and the main feedback I got from the locals for my first show was that it was the greatest performance they’ve ever seen in the local area 😜

A new one for me today and really quite touching. About 4 years ago Freddie helped me on stage at a works family fun day in Leeds, he’d just started his Chemotherapy treatment and was a fantastic help. Today was the day he got to ring the bell to signify the end of his treatment in front of all his friends and family who celebrated with a family fun day of their own and I’m so pleased to be asked to be part of it and share it with them, even if I was upstaged by a pony and a couple of pigmy goats.

James from the Wakefield Express contacted me about my Every Child Deserves A Seat At The Show days and wrote a lovely little article all about it. I'll be doing another one in the Summer Term so encourage your primary teacher friends to follow the page so they can grab one of the slots when they go up.
