We have a new area for Permaculture at this year's NGG - out from under the trees and up in front of the lake, next to the sauna, where we will be more visible.

There will be a wide range of Workshops covering, talks, demonstrations, discussions and practical activities including -

Acorn Workshop (Nuts About Acorns) on the Saturday afternoon, and a
Wild Food Foraging Walk on the Sunday afternoon with Craig Worrell

‘Our Friends the Slugs’ with Jenni Bratton- a positive outlook on a common ‘problem’

‘Routes into Forestry and Conservation work’, with Leeds Coppice Workers Ben Throssell

‘Making Natural Teas from local herbs’ with Eco Warrior Debs - who will also have a stall displaying home made natural products

‘Obtain a Harvest’ - Forest garden food throughout the year, variety selection, harvesting times and preserving to extend the season - with Kathy Gale

‘The Power of Permaculture Principles’ (book launch talk) Wilf Richards

‘Abundant Earth’ smallholding community , veg boxes & crafts - (presentation) Wilf and Beth

Non Violent Communication (NVC) Beth

‘Introduction to Permaculture’ &
‘Introduction to Forest Gardening’ with Rootsman Rakesh

‘Small is Beautiful’ (Permaculture gardens)
‘Medicinal Herbs workshop’ - Beth Bingley

Morning Yoga sessions - Claire Lavery

We also have a new Permaculture Demonstration Garden next to the main site where we will be able to host some workshops and practical sessions.

ELEMENTS FUNCTIONS AND GUILDS Permaculture garden tour focussing on elements and function within the garden, perhaps with additional opportunity to design and plant a new fruit tree guild for those who want to - Kathy Gale

‘Scything’ Luke Tilley will demonstrate and show you the techniques and participants will carefully clear the long grass from between the orchard trees.

‘Puddling the Pond’- the land here contains a layer of heavy clay near the surface and this will be used to form a waterproof layer in the hole that has been dug out for the pond, participants will wade in and compress the clay with their feet -should be a lot of fun if past experience is anything to go by.

There will be a Campfire where we can chat over a cup of tea, and have some singing sessions, maybe some stories and poetry too.

Last but not least - we look forward to the return of the Permaculture Association UK stall with their Permaculture Library and exhibition area where you can find out more about sustainable living, and opportunities to do courses and link up with other groups out in the wider world.
