Upton Victory Hall opened again when restrictions eased. We are still waiting for full easements as is everyone but we have lots of hirers back and delivering classes.

With the new lockdown announced on the 4th January Upton Victory Hall has had to close for the time being. This closure includes outdoor games such as tennis and croquet.

Upton Victory Hall will be opening again on Wednesday 2nd December as lockdown ends. As we are Covid secure most indoor activities may take place with suitable social distancing. We are, however, in Tier 2 as part of Liverpool City Region so extra care needs to be taken and there can be no socialising.

It is with regret that Upton Victory Hall is now closed until further notice. UVH has been in existence since January 1920 when the site was purchased for the charity which was created with donations from the people of Upton. WW2 didn't close us down but Covid-19 has done so. Hopefully this will be a temporary measure. To all our club members, hirers, visitors and their families please keep safe. To all NHS staff, grocery shop staff and other essential workers a big thank you from us all and an extra wish for you to be careful and safe!

We have a problem, past and present, with anti social behaviour. I have just been to a meeting with the local councillor, council representatives and the police. What transpired was that very few incidents are reported to the police about Upton issues. The police representative suggested using the Merseyside Police Contact page to report incidents rather than 101 or not at all. So anyone having problems whilst in Upton report them please.

It's our centenary open day today!

Right now, Splinters are playing in the pavilion, St Mary's Entertains have live music and dance in our marquee, and there's croquet, tennis, rounders and inflatables on the sports courts.

Upton Victory Hall will be hosting two lectures for the Viking festival on the 15th and 16th August. Tickets are going like hot cakes.

Upton Victory Hall will be celebrating its centenary this year with an Open Day on Saturday 7th September. We shall be including a Vintage and Crafts Fair plus performances from some of our Hall groups. The more the merrier! In addition we hope to have a number of stalls with games mostly for the children but big kids can join in too. Hopefully this will be an Upton wide celebration. More later but tables are now on offer at £10 each for the Vintage and Craft fair. To book your table contact Kathy on [email protected].

2019 celebrates 100 years since the people of Upton started to raise funds for Upton Victory Hall. We will be celebrating with a number of events - more details later!

Today we hosted an event for Involve North West and became a 'good neighbour'! The Involve workers went door to door in Upton helping to raise awareness of what they do and facilities in the area. It looks as though this is a very positive initiative to support people living in Upton - let us hope it is successful.

We were successful in receiving a further grant from the West Wirral Community Fund in late 2016 and have now completed the replacement flooring in Room 2 of UV Hall. This together with the additional storage provided by the Fund has made this a much safer and pleasanter environment for our community. Next step is to redecorate over the winter!
