☀️ We've been lucky to have our son visiting recently. Before heading back across the world to New Zealand, he captured this moment to carry a piece of Middle Coombe back with him - a gentle reminder of just how magical this place is, no matter how far away you wander.

The valley is glowing right now, the forest canopy is lush and full, and the pool is as inviting as ever.

We have some rather wonderful news to share!

We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded a 4* rating AGAIN by VisitEngland . We are always especially chuffed to receive this. As many of you know, caring for a historic listed property is a real labour of love, and it often means we are quite limited in the physical changes we can make.

We'll just leave you with the highlights the assessor picked out

Sometimes I like to hide in the word
foxgloves - in the middle of foxgloves.

These are the opening lines of a poem I cut out of an old newspaper. This time of year as I walk through the woods it seems even more important to say it as the foxgloves swing and sway in the breeze.

Each of our paths have been selected to bring the best out of the countryside that we own so you can enjoy walking, cycling or running in total freedom.

They say it takes a village, but sometimes it just takes a very big farmhouse. 🤍

There is nothing quite like the energy of a multigenerational getaway. The way a massive farmhouse and a separate barn can hold so much life all at once - the quiet moments, the loud laughter, the muddy paws, and the generations sitting side-by-side around a crowded table.

It’s been a few weeks since the Tate family stayed with us, but looking back at their photos, their smiles say it all.

Moments like these remind us why we love opening our doors to you. Thank you to the Tates, and to all the families who choose us as the backdrop for their favourite memories.
