Nipperbout Nipperbout is an event childcare company. We provide OFSTED 'Outstanding' childcare and children's Caring for between 1 and 300+ children at any one time!

Nipperbout has been providing outstanding care & 'edutainment' for children for 30 years! We cater for children aged 0 - 17 years operating at events nationwide. Our staff, known as the 'Purple People' are trained to care for children with a variety of needs and abilities. From school teachers to circus performers our Purple People have a range of skills and talents to support and entertain childr

en in our care. Currently Nipperbout works with a number of large unions, event organisers and operates at some of the largest venues in Britain and Europe. Nipperbout also offers training and consultancy on all things children, specialising in children at events.

Glitter, giggles and some very dubious 90s fashion!

Remember The Clothes Show Live, The Caravan or Ideal Home Show in the early 2000s? Take a trip down memory lane with us!

While the venues are bigger and the tech is better and teh events evolved, one thing hasn’t changed:

🟣 Children still need somewhere to be themselves and let off steam
🟣 Parents still need to know their little ones are safe and happy
🟣 And we still bring the same care and magic to every event we’re part of

Would you expect an event to hand your child back to anyone who just says they’re their parent, guardian, or carer with no ID check, no record, no questions?

Shockingly, it still happens.

As parents, we assume events have proper lost child procedures in place, but many don’t.

At Nipperbout, we help events put the right safeguarding and data protection systems in place, because children deserve more care than a lost handbag.

A huge thank you to ABPCO and everyone who joined our session, Children Welcome: How Childcare Boosts Event Impact last week.

Brilliant to have such interest and interaction how best to welcome parents to our events so they feel included.

What data could a childcare provider hold about your child?

We ask for a lot; allergies, medical needs, family contacts, likes and dislikes — and that’s for a good reason: so we can keep your child safe, happy and fully supported.

But with that information comes a big responsibility.

We believe parents deserve to know:

➡️Why we collect certain details
➡️How we store them
➡️Who can access them
➡️And when they’ll be deleted

We meet and exceed GDPR requirements with secure transport, locked access and records that even a child can understand (because yes, that matters too!).

✅ Clear signage (child and parent friendly)
✅ Trained staff with safeguarding expertise (and DBS checks)
✅ Identity checks (they're not handing back a lost bag or wallet!)
✅ A secure, welcoming space (with something to keep little minds busy)
✅ A GDPR-compliant incident log (complete with secure procedures for data compliance)
✅ A calm, pre-planned communication strategy and procedures (and matching Lost Child protocols)

If you didn't notice it in the first place, we can be preety sure it probably didn't exist... have a look next time you visit... and ask the event organisers if you don't spot it!

Were you at the Big Football Day in Newham at the weekend?

We were there to support families as everyone geared up to watch the first game, providing a Lost Child Point and wristband service to help everyone enjoy the day.
