We have been totally overwhelmed with all the lovely messages, cards, gifts and good wishes from everyone near and far. Thank you for taking the time to think of us, and for all the kindness and support. Its been our pleasure to work in such a beautiful place and make so many friends and acquaintances through our business and we look forward to the next time we meet ❤️

As we turn off the lights and lock the doors for one final time there are many people we must thank for making the Olde Mill a huge success.
Firstly a big thank you to all the wedding couples who trusted us with their Special day - we’ve enjoyed every minute working with you from the initial meeting to help you make your dream day come true.
Secondly a big thank you to the Farming community - Young and old who have used the venue for fund raisers, Christmas parties, dinners and just any excuse for a party!! You have kept us entertained through the years with your antics (you all know who you are!!).
Thirdly thank you to the various groups and corporations who have held meetings, conferences, dinners both at the Olde Mill and on factory sites.
Our next big thank you goes to all the individuals and families who have celebrated birthdays. Anniversaries, Christenings and of course funeral teas. Thank you for letting us take a big part on these days and trusting us to fulfil your requirements.
Our final really big thank you goes to our staff who have been beside us over the past 18 years - wherever you are now in the world - thank you for being part of our wonderful team and looking after our customers and remember in Nic’s words “keep smiling”!.
We also must have a very special thank you to our daughter Nic who has run the kitchen to perfection, done all the social media and never left our side. No more getting the paint brush out at 1.00 am!!!
So as we now embark on our new chapter of life thank you everyone for making the Olde Mill the success it has been.

And that's all folks! Our final Friday in the office last week! Here's the cakes and one last bake to complete our journey at Bardsea. Always homemade, freshly baked and prettily finished, because that's the only way to create a cakescape! I've loved making every single cake over the years and hope you've enjoyed them too!

Last Sunday lunch! Thought we'd do a little reel to show you a behind the scenes ... who doesnt love a bit of Sunday lunching! We had a lovely day last Sunday with our guests for a special celebration.

CEILIDH PARTY

For a joint 60th Birthday Party for our last Saturday night.
Everyone enjoyed a Pie and Pea supper served with our mushy Peas, onion gravy and pickles.
A ceilidh followed with all guests filling the dance floor for a final time.

CELEBRATION BUFFET

This was our last one! Served to Furness Young Farmers last Saturday evening followed by a trio of desserts. We've loved preparing and serving our buffets over the years always using local produce, home roasting our meats and salmon, homemaking all our pies, pastries, sausages, desserts, cakes and even salad dressings from scratch. Freshly baking items just before serving, and decorating prettily with colourful garnishes. You really can taste the difference. The 2 most important things to us - to make food look good and taste even better ❤️ oh and mustn't forget ALWAYS serve with a smile!

FINAL SAIL

It was our final sail on a few weeks ago - Martin and Daisy served a selection of canapes for birthday celebrations! This concludes our 18 year journey serving our food alongside the WLC team. Our staff will be forever grateful to the management, office staff, pier managers and crews of the WLC beautiful boats. It has been our pleasure to work alongside you all, and we wish you continued success in the future. Au revoir but not goodbye as we look forward to coming on board for sails to enjoy our picturesque lake district scenery ... and that cold beer with our friends!
