Why does fire calm us?
It triggers our Parasympathetic Nervous System, slows our heartrate, lowers our blood pressure and slows our brain activity. Putting us into our rest and digest state.
For centuries our ancestors relied on fire for survival, from cooking & warmth to safety, fire has played a big role in the existence of our ancestors.
So we are hard wired to find looking at and listening to fire calming. Fire triggers a psychological state known as soft fascination. Unlike screens or work tasks that demand "directed attention" (which drains your cognitive energy), a flickering flame holds your attention in a way that doesn't drain you.
Why not try our sauna and feel it for yourself?
