Slow Saturdays spent at My Playful World 🤍

Little ones playing, imaginations running wild, grown-ups enjoying a cuppa and of course, a little something homemade from the cafe.

There’s something rather lovely about a Saturday morning spent playing, chatting, eating cake and not having to worry about the mess at home… because we’ve got that bit covered! 😂

What an amazing first week of the summer holidays it’s been at My Playful World! 💚

This time last year I was on holiday with my parents and Josef, trying to work out the finer details of purchasing My Playful World… with very limited signal! 😂 Looking back now, it’s incredible to see how far we’ve come.

We’ve been so busy every single day this week, and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful to every family who has walked through our doors. Whether you’ve visited with grandparents, come as a childminder, met friends halfway or enjoyed a coffee while the little ones played, thank you for choosing to spend your time with us.

A huge thank you to Becci from Debutots for another fantastic Under the Sea session and to my amazing (but mighty!) team, Tash and Amelia, for being the smiling faces of My Playful World. I always know everything is in safe hands when I’m not there.

I even managed one of my very rare days off this week for a little trip to London with Josef and my incredible mum. ❤️ Behind the scenes she’s the one washing and drying mountains of cloths, doing emergency food shopping runs, stepping in when staff are off and most importantly, spending time with Josef while I’m at work. I genuinely couldn’t do this without her, and I’m so grateful for everything she does.

Just a few little reminders as we head into another busy week…

-Please book your places in advance wherever possible. During the holidays we often reach full capacity and I’d hate to have to turn anyone away because we simply don’t have the space for walk-ins.

-We kindly ask that only food and drinks purchased from our café are consumed on the premises. This helps us manage allergens safely, supports our small business and helps keep our doors open. We also cater for a wide range of allergies and dietary requirements, so please just ask.

-My Playful World is designed for children under the age of 7. Older siblings are absolutely welcome but we do ask that they remain seated with an activity they’ve brought from home. We had a lovely boy visit this week who came armed with his iPad, headphones and a few bits to keep himself entertained and it worked brilliantly.

Owning a small business is one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but weeks like this remind me exactly why I took the leap.

Thank you for every booking, every coffee, every slice of cake, every recommendation and every kind word. Every bit of support means more than you know.

Price Update – Effective 1st September

To our wonderful My Playful World families,

Since 2023, we have worked hard to keep our prices the same, despite the many increases businesses have faced over the last few years. We have always tried to absorb these rising costs wherever possible, but with increases to our rent, heating costs, business rates, food costs and wages, we have reached a point where we need to make a small adjustment to continue running My Playful World as the lovely space you know and love.

From 1st September, our new admission prices will be:

Child (12 months+) – £7.50
Under 12 months – £3.75

The good news is that all of our food and drink prices will remain the same.

We’re incredibly grateful for your continued support and hope you’ll understand that this small increase helps us continue providing a clean, welcoming and imaginative space for your little ones to play.
